You Can’t Lose Me - Marley and Cassadee
Marley sat in the hospital room looking at her unconscious daughter. The phone call had been one of the most terrifying of her life and she hated to see her daughter like this. Part of her felt guilty, that she was the reason Cassadee left in the first place and got hurt. Marley wished more than anything she could trade places with her daughter, but sadly she couldn’t. Instead she vowed to stay with her until she was awake and better. The doctors said that with her current state that no visitors would be allowed to stay, but after Marley went Mama Bear on a few doctors, they gave in to her request. She sat in the chair by Cass’s bed all night even refusing to sleep and telling her stories from when she was younger. She just kept wishing her daughter would open her eyes even if it was just to roll them at her. The way their current relationship was made this situation even harder on Marley.
She stayed right beside her daughter’s bed all night just looking at her waiting for her to open her eye. She even held her hand in case she fell asleep. Ryder had taken the kids home and it was just the two of them since the doctors wouldn’t allow any more visitors. Marley was determined to stay there. Nothing could make her leave the hospital. The only time she left was to go get coffee only because the doctors had forced her out the door to run a few scans to make sure that everything was okay. They had assured her by the time she came back that Cassadee would be right there. After quickly getting the coffee, Marley walked back into the room to still see her daughter unconscious.
Marley sat down with a sigh in the car and held her daughter’s hand gently in hers. “Come on angel. I need you to wake up and show me those pretty brown eyes of yours. Also, so I can show and tell you just how much I love and care about you. Please wake up, Cass,” Marley softly pleaded as she reached down to kiss her daughter’s hand.
