so today on the train this kid got separated from his parents. he was probably 12 and clearly a tourist and all these people on the train were talking to him and directing him where to go, and we were going uptown from 14th street so he would have to go to penn station, the busiest terminal in new york city, and transfer back downtown. so i'm casually doing math homework, nursing a mild hangover, and he gets off the train and is just so lost and probably the most scared he's ever been in his life and im like MOTHER OF GOD and because i'm such a nice person i got off the train, told him my name, and told him i would take him back to his parents. i learned he was from the filipines and his name was miki and he had no idea about anything else. so i took him from 34th back down to 14th and we got into the station and he saw his parents and his mom was hysterical, crying everywhere and there were a bunch of police who were talking into walkie talkies and i think they were jelly of me because i found him and they didn't and his mom was crying and like THANK YOU and i was like awww and hugging her and i was like YOU'RE WELCOMMMMEEEE and WHERE IS MY KEY TO THE CITY
