4. movie of the year

Last year was so strong for movies and this year hasn't struck me as much. this is my fault cause i don't do horror cause I have heard that objectively Sinners is it.

The movie that came out this year that I'm probably still thinking about and enjoyed the most was Fucktoys, which was dreamlike and compelling and had Francois Arnaud in it tho I didn't realise til later.

11. something i want to do again next year

See omar! and buddies! that was so good! Hoping we can get little pastries again and spend some time in queues together <3

THANKS i got there eventually. and I cut it MYSELF. cannot trust another hairstylist after the Bowlcut of 2019.

9. Best month for you this year?

probably March. had a lovely vacation, somehow got into a relationship, came out to my family & remaining friends who didn't already know, experienced new emotions and situations, had fun with friends, Yellowjackets and Riverdale were still airing, etc. a truly exciting time

11. Something you want to do again next year?

get back into doing daily comics I have been majorly slipping the last couple months :((

honestly 2024 has not materialized whatsoever for me yet I have not planned a single thing beyond January 2nd and I'm sort of in one-day-at-a-time mode currently. but if all goes well I look forward to simply chilling

2 memorable meals: a couple weekends ago i went to this fancy Italian sandwich place that was viral on tiktok with my roommate and it was entirely worth the hype and the 15 dollar pricetag it was one of the best sandwiches i had ever had. also i taught myself how to make tomato soup from scratch this year and my life will never be the same. images of both meals below

12,23 and 24 from the end of year asks

12. favorite character to write about this year

First and foremost would be my MC, Casey. She's the reason it all happens and I adore my girl. But, outside of her...

The Carrick Family wins. I love writing for Tobias and I adore Vivian. Tobias is based on PB, of course, but "my" Tobias is such an expanded version it almost feels like an OC when I write for him. Vivian is my OC and I just adore her. I almost feel like she writes herself and I'm so pleased whenever she shows up. (You knew this would be my answer, didn't you Tash. lol)

As for canon characters, another one that I really enjoy writing, even though it's not a main character, is Jackie Varma. I adore Jackie and I actually do have a series floating around in the back of my head that would have her in a more prominent role.

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

I had an idea for two really dark fics that I shelved because I think the reception would have been horrible. lol And those 2 ideas are staying in my head.

Any others that I have not written I consider part of my long list of things I may write one day, so I view them as ideas just waiting to come to fruition.

🌸 what’s something you’re proud of for accomplishing?

Surviving. It sounds really morbid, but I could have spiraled emotionally so horribly this year-gone back to old behaviors and made myself quite sick again because of the uncertainty of the pandemic-but I didn’t. If one good thing came out of this year, it’s that my mindset changed quite a bit to something healither, and while I still have moments, or I relapse, I’m so proud of how far I’ve come this year. Quarantine in that aspect was quite good for me, I took some time to do some introspective analyzing, doing things that I liked for me, and no one else, like working on the piano, or painting.

Also, at my job I’m basically a one woman representative in my department. It’s the most demanding aspect out of any of my coworkers, and I’ve only been at this job for 18 months. I’m really proud of how we all adjusted and shifted and how I’ve grown into the role.
