Charles: Yes. I told them to obey all red lights.

Interviewer: Is there any advice you could give to people who are listening to us, who are watching us and who don't necessarily always drive very well?

Some excerpts from the Leclerc family's commentaries on the 2008 karting season, as translated by @maudlintrash:

"Charles est devenu le plus jeune champion de France de la categorie cadet depuis sa creation (non pas la creation de Charles mais du championnat), et......, le seul pilote a avoir reussi un vrai grand chelem dans ce même championnat, a savoir, pôle position, meilleur tour et victoire dans toutes les manches, meilleur tour et victoire en pré finale et en finale. cela demandait d être verifie, c est fait."

Charles has become the youngest champion of France in the junior category since its creation (not the creation of Charles but of the championship), and……, the only driver to have gotten a grand slam in that same championship, you know, pole position, fastest lap, and victory in all heats, fastest lap and victory in pre-final and the final. This needed to be verified, it’s done.

Ceci etant ca enerve le Papa du Charlot qui serre les fesses au depart de la premiere manche parce que le Petit il part à l exterieur con (a prononcer avez l acssent du sud SVP). 1ere manche. Comme indique plus haut, Papa n en mene pas large au depart mais finalement tout se passe bien, merci Anthoine. Victoire de Charles, donc contents parce qu il est beau !!!!

In waiting, W O N D E R F U L suspense and Bravo to the winner! This annoys Charlot’s papa, who clenches his ass from the start of the first lap because the Little One was on the damn outside (to pronounce have 1 southern aksent plz). 1st heat. As written above, Papa hung tough at the start but at last, everything went well, thanks Anthoine. A win for Charles, therefore happy because it’s beautiful !!!! 2nd heat A win for Charles, and happy because it’s beautiful too !!!! And then to bed because bed is nice. After all, we’ll see tomorrow.

"À l’heure où beaucoup d’enfants ne savent pas encore ce qu’ils ont vraiment envie de faire plus tard, certains ont la chance d’avoir pris la décision très tôt de tout essayer pour faire de leur passion un métier, sans pour autant négliger les essentiels que sont les études, l’éducation, et toutes ces petites choses qui rendent la vie intéressante."

Cette petite phrase simplement pour comprendre que ce projet n’est pas la passion d’un instant, mais bien une véritable volonté de mener à bien une entreprise que nous savons terriblement difficile, et qui sans l’implication totale du pilote, de ses partenaires, de son team, de sa famille, ne resterait qu’un projet sans avenir, ou un jouet bien trop cher.

"At a time when many children do not yet know what they really want to do later, some are lucky enough to have made the decision very early on to try everything to make their passion a profession, without neglecting the essentials of studies, education, and all those little things that make life interesting." This little sentence simply to understand that this project is not the passion of a moment, but a real desire to carry out a company that we know is terribly difficult, and which without the total involvement of the pilot, of his partners , of his team, of his family, would remain only a project without a future, or a far too expensive toy.

La décision d’accompagner Charles dans « son projet de vie », a été motivée par plusieurs éléments :

Tout d’abord, les résultats sportifs exceptionnels qu’il a collectionné depuis ses débuts en 2005.

La lucidité et la maturité dont il a fait part lors de nos differents entretiens, notamment concernant l’importance des études, la correction, la politesse, l’immense travail nécessaire , et surtout la détermination incroyable de tout faire pour réussir.

Enfin, le charisme et le charme naturels qu’il dégage, sans jamais chercher à se mettre en avant, mais restant plutôt discret sur son parcours.

The decision to accompany Charles in "his life project" was motivated by several factors: - First of all, the exceptional sports results he has collected since his debut in 2005. - The lucidity and maturity he shared during our various interviews, particularly concerning the importance of studies, correctness, politeness, the immense work required, and above all the incredible determination to do everything to succeed. - Finally, the natural charisma and charm he exudes, without ever trying to put himself forward, but remaining rather discreet on his journey.

Après être devenu le plus jeune vice champion de France minime en 2008 à seulement 10 ans, l’année 2009 s’annonce passionnante avec le passage dans la catégorie supérieure (cadet).
