COMICBOOK REVIEW #003
YEAR ONE BATMAN: SHADOW OF THE BAT ANNUAL #3
The next in line is the Year One Batman: Shadow Of The Bat! I understand that this is from one of the many Shadow of the Bat series. In this comic, It features the origin of Poison Ivy.
Art from Brian Aphtorp (penciller) and Stan Woch (inker) and story from Alan Grant.
Poison Ivy is the alter ego for Pamela Isley- a botanist that turned a mutant (i think?) due to reckless experiment performed by Jason Woodrue. She has the ability to control plants, the poison, pheromones and so on. Her physique is sexy so she is very dangerous around men since men will attracted to her. Her pheromones able to manipulate people's mind. There's a scene where she can convinced people to suicide jump just by kissing!
I thought Batman might be lose to her, but luckily he had her poison nullified by being kissed 2 times- 1st as Bruce Wayne, 2nd as Batman. Sounds dumb. Haha.
But it might be interpreted differently though.
Very straightforward plot, and i got to know Poison Ivy much more other than 'sexy plant girl'.
I gave this comic;
3/5 ⭐
