Years Lost
Blink an eye
And it’s done,
Gone,
One day, and the next,
Read between the text;
And underneath
There is hidden grief.
Years are lost,
Like dandelion seeds,
Thrown away in an errant breeze.
- Delirium Delirious -
Friends and kisses. Intimate little nose touches and back kisses with a near stranger who I’ve swapped trauma with but barely broken down the walls circling our performative bubble. Whooooooo am I trying so desperately to be? I either reach backward or thrust forward, never content with exactly where or who I am. What an absolute mockery of existence to ever be drawn forward while simultaneously longing to go back. An excluded middle I can’t ever prove yet must try every moment to when I’m swallowed up in memory and activity. Delirium delirious. I am a salutary glance tilted askew by forgotten commitments I begrudgingly fulfill. What a sensationally incendiary set of rulings I give myself. A long way gone, departed from the coil of a once world, wrapped up in what might still be but never is.

Years Lost || Phi & The Doctor
The Doctor frowned as he looked down at his sonic, the only light on the dark planet. A planet that, as far as he could tell, was deserted. There was nothing but rocks and sand for as long as the eye could see. Save, of course, the occasional single-man ship sticking halfway out of the ground, pieces and parts scattered across the surface.
“You’ve seen a lot of destruction, haven’t you?” the Doctor mumbled as he knelt down to gather a fistful of sand, letting the granules slip between his fingers. “Shame. You used to be such a beautiful planet, if the stories are true.”
With a sniff he slowly raised back up, the sound of rocks and dirt crumbling catching his attention. The Doctor squinted and turned his head towards the ridge to his left. “Perhaps you’re not so dead after all,” he muttered curiously. “Sounds like I’m not the only one paying you a visit.”
