C# is very nice to work with but like.. half the stuff I want to bother with are either C++ or Rust... or TypeScript.
I like Rider a whole lot in general.

So I... am in the middle of...
building my first gaming PC. impromptu. with bad budgeting.
I used to have a plan but all of that went to hell. Actually, every time i had one it did.
So I just started buying parts recently.... in the worst time to be buying them. Only because--at this rate--I'd probably never have a machine. Just excuses for why I don't... or another laptop that doesn't quite match my needs.
...IDK why it's a weird feeling. A mix of agitation with the state of the market, wistfulness for the decades I've wanted in on but missed, excitement for all the beautiful pieces coming together, and some unidentified emotion floating either beneath or around it all...
(Perhaps it's a little shame that this is time I'm supposed to be spending on homework assignments...)
Other than new opportunities pushing me to get a new machine now (not two years later when things might look reasonable again), I've been feeling the need for a digital space that feels hyper-customized and in my control... It's very unlikely I'll need to upgrade anytime sooner than 5 or 6 years. I tend to be pretty content with older, "lower end" hardware cuz it's all I've really ever had access to. And with the way things are going in the world at large, I might purposefully stick with these parts for as long as possible.
...i have yet to even talk about who the heck the characters I'm drawing are. I've been posting Xandinho while I try to figure his stuff out, so I guess the sands are shifting but... still. He's got a solid base/personality, the only thing changing is his story, really.
I think once I'm comfortable drawing everyone again, I'll just start posting small scribbles and blurbs. Right now, I'm kinda stuck in survival mode ><; so I draw at like, 1AM when I should be sleeping but have too many emotions. (so they're just stress drawings that aren't for sharing...)
I guess you're hearing it here first! Since I haven't been active... I'm getting myself setup on Fluxer.
With all the stuff going on regarding digital privacy, I really want to support software that aligns with how I believe the internet should be. I wasn't interested in Fluxer at first, but I got curious after seeing a solarpunk YouTuber I like start his community there. Once I read about the project and it's roadmap, I figured I'd also jump on-board! I'm excited to see what a collection of federated, self-hostable Discord-esque communities could look like. For the last few years, I've been reading up about other chat/communication tools and protocols centered around P2P, decentralization, and distributed systems, so there's a whole world of projects out there to keep an eye on. I think Fluxer is similar to BlueSky/Mastodon in that it's a reasonably actionable, incremental step closer to those wilder futures.
Federation isn't here yet, but it's planned. Even ideas for RSS/Atom feeds and publishing forum threads from pubic communities to the web were mentioned in the roadmap. It's a tiny team over there, but if there's anything that gives me hope in our thoroughly cyber dystopia, it's that open-source communities are often proof that something can absolutely be done about it. When you find something you believe in: whether it's software or a whole a movement, you gotta get involved however you can.
Feel free to add me on Fluxer, Mastodon, and Bluesky! I plan to return in the summer. ⛅
....trying to figure out if I want to keep my blog here or play somewhere on the wild web.
....really wanna draw again.
Oh right! I updated my website a little bit, too. It'll prolly be another year before I even bother with the page again. Very busy these days 😅
Digital Artist who codes when they have to 💀(I'll update this frfr later)
