i am planning on taking my friend’s children to the pool, but she was very tentative to allow her daughter in public in a swimsuit. so in order to appease her, i ordered modest muslim swimwear for her daughter... which should be delivered to my house by next week.
anyway my mother was just like “this is my problem with muslim modesty. she won’t let her daughter go out in a normal swimsuit.” and i just was like “????? YOU wouldn’t let me go out in a normal swimsuit. i had to wear ugly ass one peice swimsuits with shorts on and i was SO jealous of the other girls who got to show their belly buttons.” and she’s like “well thats different! i didn’t want men staring at you” im just sitting here like “that’s literally her motivation! she just has a different standard of modesty!”
