The bésit were the first animals to be domesticated by the Yellekho. They fill a similar role to cats and dogs, being hunting partners, serving as pest control and alerting their owners of potential threats with a loud shrill screach.
The bésit is a beakfox related to the dicynodog and are likewise predators, though they tend to favour small prey. They are also omnivores, being able to digest seeds and fruit, this trait has been exaggerated in domesticated populations. Most wild bésit live in Meridia’s open forest where they sometimes compete with smaller crown jackals.
