Duty after school: I’M MAD
I started watching 'Duty after school' yesterday and finished it today. I think it was the most fucked up ending I've seen in all these years of watching dramas. I didn't like it at all because I personally feel that it had nothing to do with the main plot, which were the spheres, I understand that they wanted to give the series a plot twist but it didn't convince me, I mean everything happened so fast and it was so crazy... I understand that Yeonh-soo was obsessed with the CSAT but the part about the abuse towards Soyeon ???? and that he finished with all of them??? It was really so horrendous that I was traumatized more by what he did to her than by the massacre. I think that if the aliens killed almost all of them and he escaped, it would have made a little more sense or I don't know, it was a little closer to the plot, also if Ilha survived and met the 4 survivors and the idiot from Yeonh-soo to later tell them what had happened to her, I would have liked that very much. Apart from creating that alternative ending for me, I also like to think that all this was done by Bo-ra for a webtoon since at the beginning it was mentioned that she wanted to be the creator of a webtoon, so it is all her imagination embodied in a comic strip. which her classmates discover when they are already in college because I don't know, maybe her webtoon went viral or something like that for which nothing happened. Anyway, those are my POVs about the ending, now something that I really liked and it seemed very realistic was how the students never stopped being young people lost in all the chaos, commonly in these plots it always happens that the characters automatically know how to use weapons or They are not paralyzed by fear but these teenagers are not, they showed what would happen to anyone in that situation, the panic attacks, not knowing how to use a gun and being scared by gunshots, the way some of them died For example, In-Hye, who got hurt due to a panic attack and couldn't be rescued, are things that I believe and see possible when in an apocalyptic situation like that. The realism they gave it was great.
Lastly, the couples that might have been, I really liked! I liked that although the series didn't focus much on teenage love, we had small moments of some possible couples and I hope to see some of them working together in romantic dramas or comedies. Personally my favorite couple was Tae-man and Yoo-jeong.
