SOCIAL DISTANCING DAY 117. A couple three weeks ago I took everything out and tried to organize it and get rid of as much as possible. Some, like the 1950s pushmower there, I plan to sell. Much, like the skull-and-antlers or 1980s-era Bartles&Jaymes promotional poster, I can’t see letting go of yet. Lots is sentimental, like the political sign we had in the yard for one of the kids’ favorite teachers, Joe Marcum, currently there above the flower pots. Most is useful, like the lamp or old nail barrel or big tea shipping drum, not to mention obvious stuff like the ladder and birdhouses and bikes and poisons and tomato cages and little lawn chair somebody left at our last yard party over a decade ago so the statute of limitations has kicked in. It is nice having it semi-clean and quasi-organized.
