okay this is like so nitpicky but as a musician i was so confused about all of the dynamic and tempo words being used in heart racers 😭 it’s a really cute idea and u write so well but i couldn’t understand what the readers quirk was supposed to do really and it threw me for a loop 😖 im so sorry if this came off as mean I PROMISE IT WAS SO CUTE

reader's quirk is basically just jirou's except they can only hear heartbeats all the time.

my intention was to explore the 'trope' of one listening to the heartbeat of their significant other and i've definitely written this into my other fics.

people all have different heartbeats when they're resting. mine is quite fast, far above average, even when i'm sitting down at my desk compared to an athelete who exercises regularly. i decided to use musical dynamic directions to show how reader interprets all these heartbeats they hear. some are slow, some are fast, some are intense and so on.

it's also canon, i believe, that bakugo's heart is extremely fragile after the final war and that he can't exert himself too much. so i like the idea of bakugo's heartbeat being the one that really stands out and reader being attracted to it.

anyhow i hope this clears up your confusion and thank you for your ask.
