'The two men whose opinion she cherishes most are her father, Dr Richard Asher, as much an artist at heart as he is a physician, and Paul [McCartney]. But while she will seek her father's advice before embarking on an artistic adventure, she will ask for Paul's opinion only after it's all done. "Paul always tells me what he thinks about it," she reflected, "but by then it's already done and there is no turning back." Her explanation why Paul had not been consulted earlier is vague. "We usually don't see much of each other before the thing is finished... But he says what he thinks. When he doesn't like it, he says so - he doesn't try to be nice about it. He is sincere and honest. Sometimes it hurts, but it can't be helped."
