I tried really hard to sleep and between 7-11am I had spots of success. But I can't stop crying.
My Scottish friends, please hear me on this one-- I am seeing a lot of statuses and blog posts saying you feel ashamed to be Scottish after the vote-- DON'T BE ASHAMED. You are not the ones who kept your country behind. You are the true Patriots. You are the Wallaces and the Bruces. You are the heroes. When people talk about the referendum in years down the line, you proudly tell them you voted Yes because you dared to have hope. It is those who allowed their light to be diminished and doused by the blatant lies and fear-mongering that the No campaign was so rife with-- THEY should be ashamed and hang their heads in years down the line when they talk about the referendum. You YES voters should hold their heads up with pride because you refused be satisfied with a system that doesn't serve you and your children. Keep your Yes badges and Yes t-shirts and keep them with pride, because YOU ARE THE ONES THAT FOUGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY WITH ALL YOUR ABILITY, AND YOU FOUGHT IT WITH JOY, IMAGINATION AND LOVE rather than secrecy, cunning and fear. You are the light in your country, don't let the vote tell you otherwise. Be proud of yourselves, not ashamed.
The Westminster politicians that promised new powers in their "vow" that was published this week have, the very day they got what they wanted, told the people of the United Kingdom they are NOT going to give these powers to Scotland.
Also, there is a lot of fishy business about the vote. See for yourself and make your own judgements, but here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbJif7vISQg
And if you feel compelled by that to demand your justified recount then here is a petition for it: https://www.change.org/p/alex-salmond-we-the-undersigned-demand-a-revote-of-the-scottish-referendum-counted-by-impartial-international-parties
Scotland, your hearts are not yet under Westminster's heels. It's time to start shouting.
