Time's been working its typical contradictions, per usual: the minutes ticking away in steadfast rhythm, but the days themselves barely seem to move onward to the next; lagging by with a self-indulged viscosity that's only made worse by redundancy. Classes have been nothing but an endless drag of monotonous lecture, sparingly cut short by the bell. The nights seem to move even slower in comparison, the amount of hours filled with sleep far below healthy. Put it point blank, this month has been ridiculously shitty, but she bides with bated breath, any intentions to complain put to rest.
Patience may be a virtue, but the practice of restraint is something else entirely, as she’s been told by a certain someone. So she checks it in, something to live by — in times like this, likened to a gentle reminder that's more than needed.
The decision to drop by his office is anything but impulsive; almost expected really, it's been quite a while since her last visit after all. With no mind to expect any unexpected occurrences to appear before her, she steps inside, forgoing the formalities of knocking first entirely.
"Ssaem!" She calls out — for his back is turned away from her — all bright eyed, armed with an even brighter smile; she doesn't think to pay mind to see what he's doing.
That is, until she takes a closer look and suddenly realizes exactly what he's doing.
"Oh my God.”
Her light tone is dropped for the weight of pure, utter disbelief.
We can't ever have nice things, can we?
"You’ve got to be kidding me.”
