At least half of Mustang's time spent on the job was spent sitting in his office doing absolutely nothing. The fact that he could easily get away with that felt like an accomplishment in and of itself. He was constantly glad that his office was in its own separate room, otherwise everyone who wasn't already aware of how little he did would be bitter. Pawning most of his work off onto his best officers was a little cruel, but he did look everything over before sending it out, and he only sent out the tedious not important work.
Unfortunately, it was the half of the day that he actually had to sit down and do his job, and he was reading over reports when he heard the door to his office open.
"What do you need today?"
He didn't even bother to look up to see who had entered his office. After all, the people who would enter his office without warning him were limited. He could count number of those individuals on his hands, in fact.
