YFU PAO - School
This last weekend was the Post Arrival Orientation in a beautiful place, Rokytnice nad Jizerou. There I met the different exchange students from Mexico, Japan, Thailand, Germany and Denmark, we were 11 students, 10 girls and 1 boy plus the volunteers, Lucie, Ludiek, Anezka and Elizabeth (that even though she was vegan and didn´t eat gluten, she was the best cook). We had a really great time all together in the activities and sessions, I’m very competitive and I loved to have won in the games. I can say that from every person I met I take something from them, something that I learn for having been with them those days. The true is that I had a lot of fun.
Now let’s talk about school... The first day was so hard! The nerves and the fear almost killed me. The first day we only had one hour of school and no one talked to me but the next day some girls talked to me and everything was different. With the passage of days more people talked to me and things got better. I realized that Czechs are shy but once you talked to them and met them, they are very friendly and fun, the girls from my class are really nice y when I need it they found the way to help me. The school system is different that from Argentina’s, here they have a system like the US, you have like a “main class” but every hour we change classrooms and classmates. You can’t imagine how hard it was for me to locate myself and go from building to building, now I’m much better but sometimes I get lost but there has only two weeks of school so I’m great. Today was my first P.E class and I think I hated it, I´m not sure, running it’s not so bad (I need a better physical state) but running at 10 am 200 meters its the worst that could happen to me.
This is all for now, I leave you some photos from the trip.
Kisses, Carly.
