jayoung can’t believe she’s doing this, but it’s now or never. she’s been watching jisoo from afar for ages; list any sort of romantic situation (however embarrassing) and you can guarantee that jayoung’s imagined it at least once. not to mention jayoung is always cool, calm and collected no matter what the situation and jisoo is the lone exception. it tortures her that she can’t speak up, and then she can physically feel the weakness pressing down on her chest.

jayoung’s in her third year now, so she likes to think that she’s mature enough to overcome her worries. which is why she’s slowly typing out the text whose wording she had agonised over for the last hour.

[ text: jisoo ] hey, are you free tonight? could you meet me at the gym after dinner?

she wants to tell him how she feels in the evening. that way, if it goes wrong, she can hide in her room for the rest of the night (and pretend she’s sick in the morning).

Morning elegance looks like this: Bogum's old shirt ending above her knees, last night's regrets marked in shadows, mouth stitched into a frown. Granted, it's not morning. It's late afternoon, and she looks as shitty as she feels. A shower and a vitamin drink restore a little humanity, but her migraine has swelled into a force of nature. Bogum's voice drifts out of the closed bathroom door, the song dimly recognisable. It's completely offensive that he's singing when she'd only managed to puke in the bathtub. 

She sits with her knees pulled up on the couch, ground zero of the wreckage, a towel laid over the cushion. Teenagers are natural disasters of the filthiest kind. Her eyes pick out a smear of vomit dried on the floor, fingers begging to light a match. Disinfectant just wouldn't suffice—all the furniture needed to be set on fire. 

The sound of the doorbell brings her to her feet, slipping into house slippers. The corner of the coffee table catches her knee, etching another bruise to join the others, mysteriously conjured in a blackout daze. (Fuck her entire life, honestly.) She swallows the last obscenity before she makes it to the door, opening to a familiar face.

"Hey, Jisoo." It's more sigh of relief than greeting, punctuated with a wan little smile. "Keep your shoes on, the cleaners are running late—and please tell me you have aspirin, I'm ready to kill myself."

💔 HOPE THERE´S SOMEONE

with sweat making his hairline a shade darker, and muscles shaking in that ´workout well executed´ kind of way, felix reached for his water bottle and drank half of it in one go. he was still out of breath, and his heart hadn´t quite stopped racing yet, but it felt great. he usually recovered fairly quickly, which is why he clung to these moments of true exertion. there was something worth it with the way his throat burned with each breath, though in moderation. 

one after the other, his teammates gathered their belongings and headed left and right -- though most of them probably hit the showers. felix was under the impression that he got along with them fairly well despite being this new, but even so it was superficial at best. part of it was his fault. it´s not like he had made active attempts to get to know them yet. and he was a bit too tired right now. not physically, but mentally. his energy was spent elsewhere.

he clung to the familiar sensation of belonging, though -- and things were pretty good right now. felix moved aside and occupied himself with some much needed stretching, which was therapeutic in itself. but the only thing on his mind right now was lunch, and what he should eat. or, more importantly, what he shouldn´t eat. keeping to a tight food schedule was hard, but he felt it necessary. life or death necessary.

the second time he looked up and reached for his bottle, he noticed that only jisoo was left. felix liked him, and the way he made their conversations flow effortlessly when he didn´t have the energy to do the same. when the younger looked back he nodded in greeting, finished what was left in his bottle and wiped his lips dry with the back of his hand. “great work today.” compliments never hurt, right? “your shooting form was on point.”
