Ygor sketch inspired by a photo from union of salvation heh

I miss Ygor :(
Music of the Night
Ygor finds himself enamored by a mysterious voice floating through the air and in the end? He has some choices to make.
Word count: 3..2k
Characters: Ygor (Dark Universe), Fem!reader (no use of y/n), Erik (The Phantom of the Opera - Dark universe)
Warnings: Probably could consider Ygor being a lil stalkerish but that’s about it. Generally all fluff and him being absolutely smitten.
A/N: SO- this was the product of a thought that popped into my head while driving the other day. Music of the night came on and the outcome? This fic. It’s silly and probably doesn’t make too much sense but I had fun writing it! Hope you all enjoy! 🖤
— ••• —— ••• —— ••• —
The morning was bleak and gray. Autumn had fallen over Darkmoor. The air became crisp so most mornings would require a cloak but in the afternoons they would be forgotten when the air finally warmed. There was a light drizzle but that wasn’t unusual for the area. Even on the nicer days, a mist still hung low on the cobblestone through the village like a blanket. It seemed like a dark cloud always loomed above the village but with the darkness that lived within the village walls? It wasn't unexpected. Many said the devil himself resided within the walls of Darkmoor.
Ygor found himself taking his time that morning heading through the streets. It was light enough that the lanterns had gone out for the day and the only noise in the air was the last of the crickets before they retired until the evening. His steps were muffled lightly by the dampness of the stones beneath his feet. Despite his stature, the man moved quickly and lightly along the road, boots leaving a few residual muddy prints. He hadn’t bothered with a cloak, preferring the cool air against his skin- or at least his face. His gloves didn’t let too much of the outside weather in.
It was still early enough that no one had emerged from their houses yet. Then again, a full moon had just loomed overhead last evening. Everyone seemed to hide for a day or two afterwards just in case. He could remember hearing them talk about some incident that had happened before he and the doctor had come into town. But he really didn’t care about it all. He saw enough gruesome things every day, what was one more? Plus, if there had been carnage in the streets there would surely be a mob of people circled around the poor sop that had been foolish enough to venture on such an evening.
Most of his work was done in the dead of night but that didn’t mean he didn’t like to meander in the daylight when he could. It was funny to see how shocked the villagers would be to see him while the sun hung high above the village and how they’d avoid him like the plague. It seemed as though they believed that he was some sort of rat that carried disease. Maybe he did! It was better that they stayed away anyways. While Doctor Frankenstein was working to bring respect back to her family name, it was better that any wanderers should stay away from the manor. It wasn’t safe.
That particular morning he was headed to the apothecary that sat just past the well near the outskirts of town. The doctor had requested some herbs that were supposed to aid her in her experiments. When he had looked at the list, Ygor was dumbfounded as to what half of the items even were. Some were recognizable such as Foxgloves, oleander and his personal favorite, water hemlock. But others? Ygor wasn’t even sure they existed. He had tried to tell her he could just go search for himself, and hope for the best, but she insisted that it could be found in the apothecary. Ygor was not fond of Dr. Jekyll’s receptionist when he was working the desk. Last time he had gone in he nearly got strangled by Mr. Hyde for simply existing in that very moment. Since then, he preferred to steer away as best as he could.
Quietly, Ygor entered the shop, grateful that the bell didn’t chime nearly as loud as it usually did. His gaze roamed the shelves that littered the room for any sign of Hyde. Empty. That wasn’t unusual to say the least but normally the man would pop his head out. Instead the only thing that could be heard was someone- singing? Ygor stilled for a moment, wondering to himself if he should just come back later when others were around. The idea of returning to the manor without the things that Victoria asked for though? That evoked full body chills. He very much liked the feeling in his hands and not having to try and wrap his back with gauze. It wasn’t easy!
So, for a moment he stood awkwardly near the desk, kicking his toe against the wood of the floor weighing his options. He would be pulled from his thoughts when that singing voice drifted through the air, ensnaring him. The words were muffled a bit, low and gentle- almost as if it were coaxing him to come in closer. Who was he to deny the curiosity that bubbled beneath the surface?
Before he could stop himself, Ygor’s feet carried him over to the door that hung open in the back of the store. The light that emanated from within was soft and warm, much nicer than the harsh electric pulses he was used to. Her voice grew as he approached and when he peeked in, it was as though his breath was taken away.
A woman stood at a worn wooden table, surrounded by bottles of herbs and flowers along with a mortar and pestle that had seen better days. Some items were dried and chopped finely, others still had life within them to varying degrees. She worked diligently, her hands knowing exactly what needed to be done with each plant that was touched. Everything she did was purposeful. What caught his eye when she moved to the side a bit, was the foxglove flowers that sat beside her, waiting for their turn. That was one of the things that the doctor had asked for. But before he could begin to think about how he could make himself known, she continued her song.
“Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor. Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender.” She hummed as if she were singing to the plants. The beautiful creature held up the sprig of whatever it was as she continued singing. she twisted it in her fingers to examine it as each word fell from her lips in an intoxicating way. Ygor didn’t even care that he seemingly missed the beginning of the song, though he did feel as though it sounded familiar. The tune felt like something he had heard before but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
For a bit, he simply just watched and listened. Sure it was a little creepy, deep down he knew that but he couldn’t seem to pull himself away. The way she gave each plant the same attention as the last. Each leaf she plucked, each herb she chopped, it all seemed to go in time to what she sang. Perhaps the reason the way she worked resonated so deeply to him was because he, in his own weird way, was the same. The way he was meticulous with each body he took from. Careful cuts to separate limbs from their base, precise slices that gifted him with organs that would soon find a new host. Even though they were seemingly in two different worlds, the two of them were one in the same. That, along with a voice that seemed to come from the heavens itself,Ygor was enamored. Mesmerized even.
“Let your mind start a journey through this strange new world- Leave all thoughts of life you knew before!” She lifted the foxglove now, examining it closely in the light. “Let your soul take you where you long to be! Only then can you belong to me.” She turned with it, caressing the flower so gently as if it would fall apart. It was almost as if she was seeing it as someone she was singing to. The words she sang made Ygor’s whole body shudder, his eyes wide behind the goggles he wore. When had he stopped breathing? Goosebumps rose along his arms and neck, his cheeks heating with a blush. He sucked in a sharp breath but rushed to cover his mouth with a gloved hand. If she heard him? He couldn’t even fathom how that would go. He needed to get out of there before it was too late.
Ygor backed slowly away from the door, the angelic voice fading with each nearly step he took. When he reached the front door, he did his best to keep the bell from ringing. Unsure if he was successful or not, once outside, Ygor darted away as fast as his legs could carry him. He ran as hard as he could until he made it to one of his many secret entrances that would lead up to the manor. It wasn’t the most accessible one but he made due for the sake of not being seen, squeezing through the rock. When he knew he was concealed from the prying eyes of the village, the man folded over, bracing himself on his knees. His wheezing echoed slightly through the tunnel, slightly disturbing the bats that hung further down. What the hell was that feeling!? Ygor didn’t know! What he felt in that moment within the apothecary was not anything he had ever felt before. The heat on his cheeks? The way his pulse quickened because of a few simple words? How he had wished that she had been caressing his face when she had seen singing such divine words- what did any of that mean!? His mind raced with a thousand thoughts as he fought to finally catch his breath. He couldn’t wrap his head around it, the feeling still lingering. Was it desire he felt? Longing? Yearning? He leaned back against the cold stone, grounding himself a bit from the frenzy that swirled within him like a tornado. Despite the tunnel being cold, Ygor was warm. He could still feel the heat radiating from his cheeks. It was probably more so from the running he had just done but underneath it all had been due to her voice and the words she sang. He stared into the darkness ahead, contemplating what should be done. Go back and risk making a fool of himself if she is the one to help him? There was no way he could trust himself not to turn into a blubbering idiot. Or take the punishment that the doctor would surely give him and try again tomorrow. At that point he’d rather see Mr. Hyde, and that was saying something.
Her voice echoed in his head, the way she moved with the music she sang had been intoxicating. How her hands treated every plant she handled like it was the most precious thing to exist. That tune though. He was sure he knew it from somewhere. Ygor thought hard, brows furrowing before he let out a high pitched shriek of realization.
Even though he had just barely recovered, the man took off like a bat out of hell once more. He weaved through the tunnel as fast as he could, tripping over stray rocks that had fallen and ducking from swooping bats, hoping the person he was searching for would be exactly where he wanted them. It didn’t make sense to him, but how else would such a lovely creature know such a song? There was only one person that he knew that made music that touched the soul like that.
Ygor busted back into the manor, blocking his eyes for a moment as the sudden brightness assaulted his senses. He swore under his breath but it didn’t slow him down for long. As he bustled through the halls of the manor, he could tell he was getting close when an organ could be heard in the distance. It was dramatic as always but at least it was a different sound than the electrical buzzing that ran through the air.
As he entered the room, he could see a figure at the organ. They played vigorously and dramatically, moving with the music. It was almost as if they themselves were just as much part of it as the melody that played. Ygor moved to stand beside the creature. While he was keen to interrupt and get the answers he so desperately wanted, the man knew better than to do so. Interrupting the Phantom was just as close to a death wish that anyone could ask for.
Slowly the organ faded and silence hung between the two men for a moment, Ygor wasn’t even sure the man knew he stood there, his eyes were closed.
“What is it, Ygor.” His voice made the assistant jump, heart leaping to this throat. Ygor didn’t often seek the Phantom out, preferring to stay out of his path as much as he could. Sure, he wasn’t as dangerous as the other monsters that lurked in the manor but it didn’t mean to not keep one’s guard up. He may not have been enclosed in a cage like the others but Erik was still dangerous in his own regard.
“Well- uh- you see, Ygor has a question for you.” He blabbered out, shuffling his feet a bit as the other man turned to face him properly. The Phantom wore his mask, eyes boring into him. He felt as though the other man could see right through him at times.
“And are you going to be asking it any time soon?” The Phantom’s voice held a deep sarcasm to it as he spoke.
“Well- Ygor was in the village on an errand for the doctor. Had to go to the apothecary.” He began to ramble, his hands moving dramatically with the retelling of his story. “A woman- the most beautiful creature Ygor has ever laid his eyes on. She sang your music! It was a surprise that I was not even realizing it at first! How could she know?”
Erik stared at him for a good long moment before turning back toward the organ, running his gloved fingers lightly over the keys. Ygor watched as he ghosted over the keys though he had no idea if the way he moved was to music he played or just a way for him to think. His silence made the man anxious, chest tight with anticipation.
“You must speak of the village girl. Jekyll’s assistant I assume.” He said gently, as if he was fond of the memory. Ygor nodded vigorously, his goggles barely holding on to his face.
“Yes! Her! Her! Erik- how does she know your music? It should be impossible!” That was the thing that perplexed the man the most. Someone from the village had really no means to know of what went on within the manor. He was sure no one could find their way in, his security system was the best it could be to his knowledge.
Ygor was taken aback when the Phantom’s laughter filled the room. The way he bent over the organ as if trying to keep himself up. What was he laughing about!? It was a serious matter! The other man seemed to be quite amused at his confusion and concern. It took a good few moments before Erik would settle and Ygor could feel annoyance bubbling in his own chest. Just as he was about to open his mouth to speak, the Phantom looked at him, a sly smile gracing his deformed features.
“Your system is not as strong as you think.” He mused. “I’m not going to rat her out but let’s just say… she’s quite skilled at going undetected.” Another chuckle slipped from the man and Ygor’s face flushed with embarrassment. What did that even mean!? His system was weak? Never! He had spent months making sure everything worked as it should have but here someone was telling him that a villager, a girl nonetheless, was able to bypass it all.
“She has a beautiful voice doesn’t she?” Erik asked, pulling the man from his mental check of the system that ran through the manor.
Ygor gaped at him, mouth hung open like a fish gasping for air. Beautiful!? That was the least that could be said about her voice. But there was no way that he would be telling the other just how he had reacted. How goosebumps pricked his skin, his mind blanking and only focused on the words she sang. The fact that he had all together stopped breathing just so he could hear her better and take everything in. Clearly the weighted silence was enough to confirm the Phantom both in his words and his thoughts with the way he nodded.
“With the look on your face, I’d have to say you found her much more than enchanting vocally.” He said with a smirk before turning back fully to the organ before him. Ygor watched as he played a few chords, immediately recognizing it as the tune he had been blessed to hear earlier. Was- he teasing him? “Don’t go getting yourself in trouble, Ygor. She’s more than meets the eye, both in mind and body.”
“Trouble!? Ygor is not the one trouble here!” He squeaked out incredulous, crossing his arms over his chest with a huff. “Trouble is the fact she is entering the manor and you haven’t said a thing! If the doctor was to know of this-“
“I am free to roam, don’t you forget that. Frankenstein and I have our terms that do not involve me having to answer to you.” The Phantom said, interrupting his rant curtly, glaring from over his shoulder.
Ygor snapped his mouth shut, squaring his shoulders a bit. There was no argument there and before he could get himself into hot water, the man turned and saw himself out of the room. It was true and in reality, whatever was between those two had nothing to do with him. The man that hat sat before him moments ago did not owe him any explanations and it was clear he would get no straight answers to the beautiful creature. Instead, he would have to scour the manor’s catacombs and tunnels and figure out for himself where she had gotten in. Not only was it a breach to the system, one he had been extremely proud of, but it was also horribly dangerous. There was no telling what swelled down there and the idea of her getting hurt by something? It was enough to make his heart clench painfully.
There was even more of a dilemma in his mind though. A deeper part of him, while still concerned about the safety of how she got in, wanted to let it keep happening. To let Erik continue to teach her his music just for the selfish purpose of maybe hearing her sing once more. Ygor felt disgusted with himself, harboring the thought with the risk that came with that idea alone was enough to make his stomach sour.
His thought filled retreat had brought him to his lab door. Ygor stared at it blankly for quite some time, debating with himself on what to do. Perhaps trying to find the path she used would be the first step. The second? Ultimately, he decided that securing the tunnel from the monsters that crawled under the manor was the best option. He would do everything he could to keep her safe if she was was determined as Erik made her out to be. He would be more than happy to do it if it meant that he’d even have the slimmest of chances to hear and see her again. It seemed like he had his work cut out for him and with that? Ygor got to work.

He knew that they had pulled too much power but when Ygor tried to tell her, did she listen? No. Not that she ever did and Ygor knew he had some brilliant ideas. And now? Someone was banging at their door probably demanding answers and for it to be fixed immediately. He wondered who they sent, hoping that it wasn’t that Mr. Hyde man- last time he had come Ygor was hanging upside down from the wall for hours. Grumbling under his breath, he trudged over to the large wooden door and pulled it open just enough to peek through. Better safe than sorry.
“Who are you, what do-“ He started but clipped himself off when he saw who it was. Her. Of all people that they could send it had to be her!? He could feel his cheeks heat up with a blush. For quite a while, Ygor had quite the crush on her. Or at least if one called watching from a distance like a freak a crush. She was smart and pretty- much kinder than the Doctor was. Even though he knew virtually nothing about her, he still found his heart pounding any time he caught a glance of her in the village. Now? There she stood right before him looking more than annoyed. What had Ygor done to deserve such a thing? Oh- yeah…the power.
Slowly he pulled the door open, allowing her into the manor. Even in the dim light she was even prettier than he had ever seen her, despite the frustration in her features. The way the shadows crossed her features as she stared at him. Ygor couldn’t find his voice, opting to hang his head so she wouldn’t catch the heat rising from his cheeks.
“I am assuming the Doctor is in, yes?” She spoke suddenly, her hard gaze fixed on him and only him. “I must speak with her at once.” Of course she does- even though hardly anyone came to the manor, which honestly was the better choice for them, it was always for her. Never for Ygor. And he was the one doing most of the work!
He stood there frozen for a moment, unsure of where to let himself look. The ground wasn’t nearly as interesting as the fuming delight of a woman that stood before him. Oh how he’d love to know just how far she would go with her anger.
“I- uh-“ Before anything else came out he ran away into the corridor beside the entrance. There was no way that he could even begin to form a proper sentence together. Ygor knew exactly where Victoria was and he would be damned if he let his beautiful flower wait too long.
“Oh Doooccctoooor- we have a visitor.” He called out as he rounded the corner into one of her many make shift lab rooms, his sing song voice echoing slightly off the slabs of brick around them. The lab room she currently worked in was for mainly for dissecting specimen and preserving them. After they had pulled the power to close the cage on the wolf man they had wrangled in that evening, she had taken one of the many lovely bits he had brought for her to study. It wasn’t often he was able to get fresh hearts! But the undertaker was good to him that night. No thanks from her though- only ‘Go away Ygor, I have work to do.’
“Who.” She demanded without looking up from her work, hair falling around her face. He rolled his eyes, though that was quite a dangerous thing to do around her. If she caught him surely she’d whip him back into shape. Maybe leave a few marks if Ygor was lucky!
“Villager- not a happy one either. I tollld you we caused another black out.” He let out a deranged little giggle. “But do you listen to Ygor? Noooope!” He squeaked before scooting off once more into the darkness of the manor. It was easy to talk to her- at least in his head. Victoria didn’t scare him all that much but then again, he didn’t have the most world shattering crush on her. Eugh. No way. Ygor would rather be ripped apart by a lycanthrope and have someone pour salt in the wounds before thinking doc was remotely attractive.
Knowing she would make her way to where he left his favorite villager, Ygor took one of the many short cuts he discovered while he was making the manor livable again. He weaved his way through the twists and turns back to where the entrance was. He knew he was close when he caught the mumbled heated words between the two women. Annoyance was heavy with both of them, his flower more so. She had every right too- Victoria was well aware of the pact and exactly what was needed for the cages. She just liked to ignore it for her own gain. Ygor tried to tell her but would she listen to ole Ygor? No. So now there were consequences.
“Ygor!” He startled a bit when his name was yelled, grumbling a bit as he shambled back into the room. “Return the power to the village- we are done for the evening. And when you are finished, escort her back to the village. It’s only the polite thing to do.”
“Yes doc-“ And with that, he was off once more. Ygor slunk through the corridors with an expertise that only one would have if they walked them a thousand times. The switch that stored the left over power was in the main lab just outside of the catacombs. He would have to hurry if he didn’t want to be punished for taking so long after he brought her back to the village. For a moment he struggled with the switch, electricity crackling around him as he pulled. The man swore under his breath, using as much of his body weight as he could to get it to budge. Finally, with a creak, it gave way. Not without a good shock to him though, sending him flat on his back on the hard ground. It knocked the wind out of the man for a brief moment before he let out a maniacal cackle that echoed off the steel that surrounded him. Ygor loved a good shock, especially one that held so much power.
His journey back to the main entrance wasn’t long and once more he caught the last few words of their conversation.
“I will keep that in mind. If you’ll excuse me- I have things to attend to.” The Doctor’s voice floated through the air. “Ygor will see you out- power should be restored. Have a good evening.”
He really did not want to be doing that… he did not want to do that at all! But he had no choice. It was an order that he could not ignore. Though.. it did mean that he was in charge of keeping her safe. That felt very important. Very…big. Fine. He would do it. Ygor cursed under his breath before stepping into the shadow behind her once more. He watched her for a moment taking in the way her braided hair fell on her back, the way the light reflected off of it. For a moment, he wondered exactly how it would feel to touch it. Was it soft? Did it smell good? Of course it did, he knew for a fact that she smelled good. Working with all the herbs that she did was the direct result of that. He had no doubt that she only used the best for herself! Ygor shook his head a bit, trying to clear his mind of the thoughts that plagued him, and straighten himself out while clearing his throat.
When she whipped around to look at him, Ygor thought his heart would pound out of his chest. Her eyes held annoyance- if he was in her shoes he’d probably too be annoyed with how the doc had brushed her off. But that wasn’t his place. His gaze dropped to the floor, he couldn’t look at her. Never did he think he’d get as close as he was in that very moment. It was terrifying yet intoxicating at the same time. Surely something he’d never get used to, not that he’d really ever be able to. In no other circumstance would they be this close again and he would happily go back to watching her from behind gravestones. Observing. Thinking. Daydreaming.
“Doc wants Ygor to escort you back to the village.” He said meekly, peeking up at her for only just a moment. His messy hair fell over his goggles slightly but it didn’t obscure his vision of her. She stood tall though he could see the defiance in her eyes as she stared back at him. Ygor dropped his gaze back to the old carpet that sat beneath their feet. He mentally pointed out all the holes as he shifted on his feet.
“That’s kind of you.” She said to him after a few seconds of suffocating silence, noting that the annoyance she held was not really toward him. He felt like it should’ve be though… he had been helping after all. Even did the pulling of the switch! It felt like electricity was coursing through his veins, and while sure he had been electrocuted before, this was a completely different feeling. There really wasn’t a way for him to describe it- there were no words for it. So? He simply just nodded a bit and moved to pull the heavy door open for her. The man allowed her to step out first, making sure the door was closed properly behind them. The last time he had left it ajar they had some unwanted visitors. Victoria had not been very happy and Ygor remembered that he could not use his hands for a week after that.
The trek was quiet. Ygor held the lantern before him as he quickly walked. The faster he got her back, the faster he would be away from her and be able to breathe normally again. Out of the corner of his eye, the man caught more movement than just walking- suddenly she was falling. Without thinking, Ygor reacted quickly, catching her easily before she could hit the ground. Despite the cool air of the evening, she felt warm and comforting in his arms. He couldn’t help but wonder how nice it would be if he could hold her all of the time. There was that feeling again. The electricity that seemed to course through his veins whenever she was near. This time it was full force as this was the very first time he was touching her. Ygor felt his own breath hitch, his fingers wrapped tightly around her waist. For a moment, they stared at each other like nothing else surrounded them. The world stood still for Ygor. He tried to commit her face to memory despite the light being near nonexistent. The way her cheek bones curved beneath her skin, the shape of her nose and how it perfectly fit her face. It was only when howling could be heard in the distance that he was pulled from the reverie of his mind.
“Be careful- isn’t safe. Ygor trips all the time.” He muttered gruffly, forcing himself to pull away like he had been burnt as soon as she was on her feet again. Stupid, he thought to himself, so stupid. A woman like her would never have a man like him. She was much too good for someone like him. Or so he thought. He eas just an assistant, a lab rat who spent his days crawling around catacombs and splicing limbs together. It was his happy place after all, but that didn’t mean she would ever be part of it. He did the work of the devil as most villagers like to spit at him as he walked by.
The rest of the walk was silent, save for the continuing distant howls that plagued the forest beyond the gates of Darkmoor. Ygor was much too caught up in his own head to really take it in though, concern was not on the forefront of his mind. Even with his gloves on he could still feel her softness lingering on his hands. He could still see the way her eyes felt on him, the way they seemed to burrow themselves deep into his skin. It was disgustingly perfect. He thanked whoever was out there that it was dark, more than sure that his face was as red as a tomato. Ygor didn’t even like tomatoes. Time may have stopped earlier when he had her in his arms but it clearly waited for no one because sooner than he realized, the pair stood outside of the apothecary.
Thank you, Ygor.” She said gently. He nodded quickly, his eyes once more trained on the ground in front of him. The bricks always seemed slick with rain even though it seemed to really only mist. She was much too kind to him. “Be safe getting back- it’s a full moon.” The woman added, making his heart flutter a bit. She was concerned for him? It made him want to swoon. No one had ever showed concern for him before- the thought made him simultaneous ecstatic but also nauseaus. Instead, the man gave a quick shrug and looked back up toward the manor.
“Ygor will- got a secret path.” He said, shaking his gloved hand nonchalantly as he bounced on his feet a bit. In his pocket, Ygor could feel the weight of the flower he had procured before they left. Did he even dare to do it? It was as pretty as she was, he couldn’t possibly have left it behind. She probably thought he was a freak- he was! But it didn’t mean he didn’t have feelings. Sure, maybe he didn’t understand a lot of those feelings but something about handing her a flower that reminded him of her seemed…right? Out of the corner of his eye he saw her reach for the handle of the door and without thinking, he quickly grabbed the flower from his pocket and shoved it her way. Immediately, he felt bad when he saw her flinch but he didn’t pull his hand away. It was now or never and in that moment? Ygor might have preferred never with how loud his heart was beating in his ears.
“For…me?” She questioned. Ygor nodded hurriedly, nearly sending his glasses off his face. It felt like forever before she took it from his hand. As soon as she did? He bolted without a another word. Luckily the secret path he had mentioned was near enough that he could slip away out of her view. Should he have waited for her to say something? Maybe but there was no way in hell he was going to! That had already beendifficult enough! He didn’t want to stay and see her laugh in his face, his heart clenching painfully at the mere thought of it. It didn’t matter if anyone else laughed at Ygor, hell, he’d probably laugh with them. He was good at laughing at himself! Did it all the time! But her? His beautiful flower? That would crush him to pieces. Gods- why had the doctor insisted that he take her back. She would have been fine! Just peachy really! It wasn’t like the lycanthrope’s were prowling through town, there were too many hunters out.
As he reentered the manor, muttering to himself, Ygor hadn’t noticed that Victoria was waiting for him in the lab. He puttered over to the steel gurney, meaning to take out his feelings out on the poor cadaver he had aquired the evening before.
“That took much longer than it neede-“ She was cut off by his high pitched screech that reverberated off the walls. That mixed with the clang of metal on metal made her flinch along with him.
“Do not be sneaking up on Ygor like that!” He squeaked out, clutching at his chest dramatically. He could feel his heart beating out his chest. And just when he had finally began to calm down too. She rolled her eyes at him, crossing her arms with an annoyed and unimpressed huff.
“I wasn’t trying to sneak up on you- unfortunately we still habe work to do before I retire.” The woman said before turning on her heel and heading toward the catacombs. The clack of her heels echoed until they couldn’t he heard anymore. Ygor stood alone for a moment, attempting to process every thing that had happened that evening. And to think, he thought he was going to play with his toys. He let out a little grunt, rolling his eyes as he followed after her toward the catacombs once more. No rest for the wicked it seemed.
I saw this photo from @maddyhobbsphoto on instagram and thought it was so beautiful and delicate I wanted to try and do a fine line style tracing 😁
