hm okay well Connor Shacklebolt is this lil defiant slytherin smartass who's really cocky and flirty and passive aggressive and he loves satire and he's really into social justice and stuff like he can quote mlk's "i have a dream" speech off by heart, and he plays by his own rules and always gets into arguments with people twice his size but escapes scot free cause he's such a smooth talker. he's just such a smartass what a jerk

He sounds like someone I’d enjoy seeing places, he sounds like an entertaining one. I love this, I just always love this “always gets into arguments with people twice his size” Okay  I have two people that came to mind and that is Lina and Dimtri Vikhrov.

Lina- Lina is a gryffindor in the harry potter verse, she can be a bit aggressive and is confident in who she is. She likes to break rules and is a bit reckless. She can handle stuff on her own and is fairly independent, always has been that way. She is very into justice and social justice, she is a bit of a raging feminist and thinks that everyone should be equal. She is sarcastic and blunt, a bit insensitive at times and a little bit of a bitch sometimes.

Dimitri- Also Lina’s slytherin little brother. Dim is a very intelligent man, he is cunning and can almost get out of anything, he rarely gets in trouble. He looks like he is a bit too serious all the time, but he enjoys a good joke and prank, he just doesn’t show it all that much. He does what he want and really doesn’t care what others think. if you hurt someone that he cares for he will be ruthless with them because nobody messes with those that he cares about. He is really into music and also cares about treating people equal.

but the great thing about playing the Marauders in their own era is that it's pretty much a blank slate. I mean, obvs there's some traits that correlate from the books, but most of them are minimal and could just be adult traits not teenager traits

You both make wonderful valid points. I just feel like the whole fandom has these preconceived idea’s of the Maurderers in their minds and I don’t wanna ‘do it wrong’ in someone’s eyes. IDK canon character have always been an iffy place, but I mean I play Rita Skeeter so what harm can there be in giving everyone’s least favourite Maurader a shot. ha!
