YHack
Behold, I have returned from Connecticut, ready to once more pretend I know what's going on in class (as opposed to this weekend, when I pretended I knew what was going on with web pages).
In short, the weekend was a blast, and I would do it again if given the chance. As for the YHack part, while there is room for improvement, I would do it again as well.
Dislike:
Candy wasn't my favourite: it needed more Crispy Crunch and Reese's derivatives.
Salesforce ran out of t-shirts and didn't bother restocking, so I didn't get one of theirs.
The website name (domain name for your purists) challenge: I believe that colinmemaybe.me is a much better name than lumousity.me, however the judges don't seem to agree.
Long bus rides with the smell of bathroom-cleaning-chemicals pervading my nose. I can now confirm I start getting nauseous after about 5 hours in a bus thanks to that smell.
Needing a shower that badly.
Sitting for pretty much 69 hours straight. I get fidgety when I sit for too long, and three days is definitely too long. Will my professors mind if I do jumping jacks and run laps around the lecture hall tomorrow later today? I hope not.
Like:
The sour patch kids were appreciated.
More t-shirts than I really know what to do with.
I now have a new pair of socks. Was this a subtle reminder to change into clean clothes?
32 GB worth of free USB sticks.
What am I going to do with 5 hour energy? I trust it to kill me if I drink it (8333% of your daily value of B12 in one bottle).
Long bus rides with friends, wherein anything and everything is discussed and ESP is mocked once again.
I am now clean! Though I do seem to be mildly allergic to clean (if my current spate of itching is anything to go by), I was more allergic to being unclean. UofTHacks is going to be magnificent because I can walk home to shower and sleep. teasdays I may end up begging you to let me borrow your shower when I'm at McHacks in February.
Yo! is an interesting app. There's something oddly appealing about sending someone a completely pointless notification, with the knowledge they can send you one as well.
For the next hackathon, I really should learn what I'm doing with JavaScript (jQuery especially) and learn how to do back-end stuff, because we learned this weekend that doing everything on the client's computer causes headaches.
Anywho, I am tired and I should really attend that 9am class I have (who tracks attendance in university, anyways?), so I'm off now. Goodnight.
P.S. If you've contacted me in the past four days and I haven't responded, I apologise. If you want a response, it mightn't be a bad idea to shoot me a reminder, because I became more of a hermit than I normally am this weekend and no longer remember to whom I owe responses.
