⁂ feat. @yhsohee
there are several types of drunks in the world, and wonjun is glad he’s not a hyper drunk. if anything, he’s a mellow drunk, maybe a tad bit chattier. but something about last night (or the mystery ‘magic’ pill) just really got him going... to the point that he thought the stage would be a fun place to jump off of. that was the generous version of the story, because more accurately, he just slipped off it like a blind calf testing its legs for the first time. the last thing he distinctly remembers is a warm gush of red pour over his eyes, his friends freaking the hell out, and finally the unnatural sterility of the hospital wing.
it’s really nothing serious. an unkind gash on his forehead, but nothing a few stitches and modern-day painkillers couldn’t fix. were it any lower on his face, he might’ve been more pissed than he is... but really, he just thinks about how much easier it’d be if only every other wound in his life were as simple to patch up. when he wakes in the morning, he feels the pain of his hangover more than anything else. he’s slightly annoyed that his friends brought him to a hospital for something so trivial, but he can’t blame them; that much blood would’ve freaked the hell out of him too. and if he were any more sober, he probably could’ve walked out of here on his own two feet and waken up in his own cozy bed. alas, beggars can’t be choosers.
the curtains to his enclosed stake of the emergency room slide open, and his eyes dart over to whom it might be, widening when he finds a familiar face. too familiar. for a second, he questions if this is all a fever dream or a hyper realistic trip, because he didn’t expect to see her here, despite it being the place of her work. “oh. hey. hello,” he stumbles over a greeting and props himself up to a half-seated, half-laying position. he refrains from wincing when he accidentally discovers some bruises in places he didn’t know he had until now. “sohee — how are you?” he asks with an awkward, boyish grin. it’s an objectively stupid question, but he doesn’t know what impressively suave thing he otherwise could’ve said in his current state.
