The podcast You Had To Be There gets great guests! Pay attention Comedy fans!
Michael Showalter. Paul F. Tompkins, Jim Gaffigan, and Kristen Schaal. WHAT!?! Plus stand ups, musicians, and writers who are just as great, but not as famous.
For people who aren't listening yet: YHRBT is a casual conversational podcast, so each podcast has it's own tone.
Michael Showalter is unapologetically awkward in his episode (in an hilarious/quirky Showalter way). He lets the dead air sit there, and is completely fine with it. I smiled pretty much non-stop through this episode.
My favorite episode so far is Paul F. Tompkins. The conversation is very funny, and features Paul F. fake confronting Sarah Schaefer....So great.

You Had To Be There with Sara Schaefer and Nikki Glaser
I listen to this podcast every week.
When I first started hearing about podcasts, and blah blah why you should listen to them, I was a little lost. There were so many to choose from, and most of the popular ones were created by men. I wanted to find a podcast done by women (you know ... so I could see if there were any women that were funnier than me out there. There are tons, so I stopped researching.) After a little investigative work, I came across YHTBT.
It's a little different than your average podcast because they tape in front of an audience in Sara Schaefer's apartment. It's fun! You can hear people laughing, and there's a great energy in the room. They drink, smoke and sometimes the guests get really fucked up (re. one of my favorite episodes with Shock G). They try to have one comedian and one musical guest per episode, but like these ladies, the structure of the show is lax and funky. So, sometimes guests double up to tell jokes AND sing songs.
Try them out! You'll even grow to love their fabulously awful/awfully fabulous "HEY" intro.
