Some angst for your "Smokescreen in the lead" AU

Smokescreen probably likely favorites Sideswipe more than Strongarm since Sideswipe reminds him when he was younger as Strongarm knows about this but still hurt that the favoritism while Sideswipe is unaware about all of this and just happy to be praised by someone that he probably looks up to

Haha, well… i guess the next update has a tiny itty bitty of that, but I do want to touch on something similar i want to do at another point

I’m thinking that scene in maybe episode 2-4, when strongarms figuring herself out with the laws and stuff, and at the end of the episode her and bumblebee sit on the top of the statue and literally do nothinggg!! He says something like “hey you didn’t follow the rules” and she just goes “yeah….” And something minor but thats it!!!! I genuinely thought the two would have a deeper conversation there or something but anyway BACK TO MY POINT

I don’t think smokescreen would favourite sideswipe, I think sideswipe would just need more help adjusting to being part of a team. Like when smokescreen first joined team prime, he tried to connect with the other bots like… straight away. Tried helping bulkhead, tried cracking a few jokes, etc. So when you have a rookie who’s lived his life solo fearing the idea of having some sort of connection with people (denying how much he wants that) VS the rookie who’s been trained in the guard to work as a team and is adjusting very well with this new group, he’s bound to take more of a priority with sideswipe.

He trusts strongarm and knows strongarm can trust him, and trust is a where team first starts. So he’s probably bound to try gain sideswipes trust in little ways first to help him ease into the team.

That s probably not what it looks like in strongarms eyes though

In strongarms eyes, smokescreen out having fun and games with a criminal instead of taking things seriously. Leaving her to do work and feel less important. Cause smokescreen maybe didn’t realize how hard-core she was about their mission on earth. Dont’ know how I’ll show that just yet, but maybe they bring try to bring strongarm along on their next racing run haha

So yeah I’d want to explore something like that. (I mean I could probably include it somewhere in a “sideswipe first meets smokescreen backstory” because gosh dang bumblebee in the first episode already knew who sideswipe was and I wanted to know how it happened, could be sweet in the whole trust thing like implying sideswipe already starting trusting smokescreen more than most bots, and that’s why he’s pretty chill about this whole thing or something—)
