y'all the parallel between shauna's speech post ben's killing & jackie's speech post allie's leg breaking is driving me INSANE

shauna is embodying jackie so intensely. she even has someone at her beck and call as she was once for jackie. jackie is all she knows. jackie is power, her power, literally the energy that kept her alive through winter when she was starving and pregnant.

now she lives on in her hair and she loves her so damn much and she is channeling every part of her that she adored and was so desperately envious of. her power, her social dominance and prowess, and now her leadership skills.

shauna becoming leader & sentencing nat to the same fate that she has. the butcher. the exchanging of roles

ben was nat's confidant, he became one of her closest friends during their time in the wilderness. shauna sentencing nat to have to dismember him to then eat him is her inflicting the pain she felt at having to eat jackie the person throughout her life that she is the closest to. and of course having to dismember javi who she bonded with over art and journaling

shauna has felt so alone and disregarded and now she will finally be understood. or at least that's what she thinks. but regardless of what she does as leader, no one will share the incredible burden of her pain. maybe jackie could if she was still alive.

jackie would be the only one to make shauna's pain feel seen and heard and honored. everything else is just posturing and an attempt at service out of deep seated fear
