YOUNG LIFE WINTER WEEKEND 2017: ONE LEADER’S TESTIMONY
Most weekend retreats or youth trips can focus on creating converts rather than disciples. But at Winter Weekend I had the opportunity to see incredible growth in our upperclassmen you have decided to give their lives away. This was displayed through their love for not only the Lord, but by their missional heart for their high school friends.
This weekend I had the privilege of seeing such student leadership from the upperclassman girls of Rustin Younglife. Before leaving for the weekend, many of these young women stated that they were truly excited about loving-on the underclassman at Winter Weekend and desired to be Godly examples of Christ for them to look up to.
The Lord used Winter Weekend to solidify and grow community at Rustin Younglife. Despite the enemy waging war through lies of inadequacy or lack of wisdom, the Lord’s gospel reigned true. He has lit a fire under these young men and women. And we cannot wait to see how He will use them. Pray for the fire to fan into flames, bringing such light to their high school.
