here is the map of the north portion of lake xianzhou from my fic. it's somewhat crude but i hope it makes it easier to visualize. some items have been erased for now. the R is the ranger's station and the L is luofu. the line in between these two areas is the boat ramp where baiheng was found. the 'x' to the south of luofu is where dan feng's house is.

this chapter: normally i feel pretty strongly as both a writer and a reader that authors should trust their audience to do the work of reading and not spell everything out for them. however, in this case i will make an exception and make the implicit explicit: yingxing is sitting backward in his chair in the first scene.
