YMF271 short tune
Seeing that Yamaha's OPX chip was writable in mml2vgm, I wanted to try my hand at writing a short tune for it. It is a really interesting chip, too.

F-1 Super Battle - PA151
F-1 Super Battle – PA151
F-1 Super Battle is a racing game from 1994 for Jaleco’s Mega System 32 arcade board. It’s notable features are that it still features sprite graphics fairly late for an arcade game, and the upright arcade cabinet is a somewhat unusual egg shape. No composer information in this mini episode, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the music! Special thanks to GTheGuardian for the original rip on…

The Game Paradise!: Master of Shooting!
this is full of decent arrangement but questionable synth design. not even bad, just...”huh?”.
that said, it’s still a very enjoyable soundtrack, including some tunes in odd time(!!)
my favorite tune is probably “Rea-Chan's Theme (Stage 2 Boss BGM)”
even the tunes that I didn’t care for would still make really nice remixes (example: “Retro World (Stage 5 BGM)”)
Viper Phase 1
this is pretty good shmup music, with a really nice PCM-synth, for lack of a better word. aliased but in a way that only adds flavor.
check out “Outer Space”
Vs. Janshi Brand-new Stars
I’d describe this as a competently arranged soundtrack, almost like a high school anime except with low quality / aliased sounds.
I wish i knew who the author was because they seem like they’d have a good discography.
anyway, it can be somewhat plodding but I like some of the tracks damnit (see “BGM 09″)
