a/n: hi sweetheart! this is amazing, thank you for this request<3
summary: you confess to your mum about that you’re a lesbian and she tries to help you with stress telling you about morticia
“Mom?” you asked quietly as you saw your mother working in her office she had at home and you were standing in the doors.
“Yes sweetheart?” The tall blonde asked without even looking at you. She didn’t take her eyes off the papers she had laid out on the table and you took a deep breath.
“Can we have a girly talk?” You asked, using a word which made your mother realize that the topic was serious for you. Your mother had set this when you were younger so she knew that you had to talk about something what was bothering you for a long time by now.
“Of course honey. We haven’t had that in a while, what’s wrong?” Your mom pushed the papers aside and you took a deep breath as you took a step towards her in the office. In silence, you sat down opposite to her and settled your hands into your lap.
“I- uhm….”
“Take your time love. I will make some tea is that okay?” You just nodded your head as an answer to her question and your mother walked over to the kettle and prepared two cups. “Black one or some fruit?”
“Strawberry if you have,” you said and swallowed hardly. Your mother started making your tea and she clearly saw that you were really nervous. Giving you time to think about what did you want to tell her, she prepared the two cups of tea and brought it over to her table.
When your mother sat down and placed your tea down, you knew you had some time with her. Without looking up at her, you swallowed.
“Mom… how did you feel about Morticia when you were at my age?” You asked about the theme your mother didn’t really like to talk about with you. Looking up at her, you saw her frowning at you.
“Is there something happening with Wednesday? Is she mean to you?”
“No mom… i just… you and Morticia had a- thing. How did you feel?” You asked, without giving any hint to your mother.
“Well… she was there for me every time I needed her. She was my roommate, she helped me with the homework, we spent every afternoon together. Her presence made me feel happy and she was happy with me too, until her father didn’t make her marry Gomez - Wednesday’s father.” Your mother explained and you nodded your head preparing yourself for the upcoming questions.
“You were in love with Morticia. Right?”
“Yes honey, I was. But her family made her marry Gomez,” the taller blonde said and you nodded your head. “Why did you ask?”
“I think I have a thing for someone,” you whispered quietly and in the following second you became that nervous you could almost hear your blood in your ears. When you became brave enough, you looked up at your mother, finding her smiling softly.
“Mhm?”
“Mom… uhm… I think I like this girl…” you said and looked at your mother. She was listening to you carefully and she let you speak. “She is very nice and she pays attention to what I say, she has her own style and doesn’t let anyone to tell her to change and… yeah…” you started explaining.
“And who is that girl?”
“Mom… it’s- it’s Enid Sinclair,” you confessed and appeared in a really uncomfortable silence. You didn’t know if you should’ve looked up at your mother or not. But when you did so, you saw her smiling and your worries about your mother not accepting you because of who did you like were suddenly gone.
“You like Enid?”
“Yeah-“ you breathed out and looked her into her eyes. Your mother smiled and looked down at her hands she was playing with by then and you hoped in that she wouldn’t make a problem of it by then.
“And have you made any move?”
“How do you mean it?” Frowning and tilting your head to the side softly, you asked.
“Spending time with Enid. Complimenting her outfits, being opened to her…”
“Well,” you shook your head no after a little thinking and your mother sighed.
“So you don’t know if she likes you back?”
“I don’t,” you agreed with her and your mother let out a quiet hmm. You took a sip of your tea and closed your eyes, quietly hoping for some advice from your mother about what should you do. When she didn’t say anything, you kept quiet too and started thinking about the blonde girl.
“You should do what I told you. Let her know that you see her more as a friend,” your mother said and you looked her into eyes, scared.
“And what if she doesn’t like me back the same way I like her?”
“And what if she does?” Your mother asked you back, making you even more unsure than you were.
“And what if-“
Knocking interrupted you and the doors opened suddenly. You looked back at the doors and your heart skipped a beat as you saw the blonde girl who has been playing with your head and your heart.
“I am sorry- Uhm- I didn’t mean to interrupt, I was just searching for Y/n- I am sorry I will wait until you’re not finished and- I will wait for you in our room-“
“Miss Sinclair, it’s alright. Y/n wants to tell you something anyway. I will be right the next doors girls,” your mother stood up and you couldn’t believe what did she just do to you. Looking her into eyes, you saw how she smirked and even winked at you. After that the principal of the Nevermore academy walked to the doors and left you two alone in the room.
“So? What did you want to tell me?” Enid asked and she swayed back and forth on her toes, her hands behind her back.
In your mind you were cursing your mother but you managed to make a smile and you looked down onto the floor.
“Uhm- I just- I have something to tell you…”
“And what would that be?” Enid asked you and she smiled as wide as possible.
“Uhm… I- I have some feelings for you a-and it’s making me really nervous. And my mother just made this up so she basically threw me into water and I don’t know how to swim-“
Enid smiled at you what made you shut up. You swallowed really hardly and you felt yourself being about to cry when Enid spoke up.
“You are so poetical… since when?”
“Only when I’m like really nervous,” you confessed and Enid smiled. She stepped closer to you and that made your heart skip another beat.
“Well, I guess I have something to tell you too. I like you as well!” Enid said and her voice went up at the end of the sentence.
Your whole world twisted with you and you didn’t know what to say. The girl you liked, liked you back. Catching yourself smiling, you brushed it away with a cough and that was the moment. when your mother entered your office.
“Sorry girls, I will just take my phone and- oh-“ your mother whispered when she saw you in tears. Enid stepped back from you and that was the moment when you realized that she was standing too close. “I’m not even here anymore-“
“It’s okay principal Weems,” Enid said and your mother looked at you. Nodding your head you let her know that she could trust Enid and your mother left from the room with a smile on her lips.
“Thank you.”
“Thank you,” Enid repeated and her smile made you feel all warm inside.
