Miscellaneous Yokai watch nightfall ideas
The following are some smaller concept/ideas i have for if I made a yokai watch game that I don't feel are large/fleshed out enough to warrant individual posts
Though I original decided to conform to canon and go with Natsuki attending an all girl's school, I dont think itd work out logistically, so im axing it. Gender segregated schools are kinda a dumb idea anyway.
On the topic of the school, since part of the game would be the transition from summer to fall, after the first couple chapters "school hours" would start taking up some of the days. These would take the form of short trivia quizzes akin to the persona series. They do eat up a chunk of your hours in the day however, encouraging the player to do things at night. Hence the name "nightfall." :3c
If you go into the uptown Springdale everymart, the cashier will periodically be replaced from the standard one present in the games, with Hungramp's granddaughter from his debut anime episode!
Just as the other games have, new categories of food will be added to give to yokai! Some example ideas i have are Tacos, Ramune, and Energy drinks :3
I like the idea of Detective Holdit giving out a questline centered around finding Doppelnyan, who is shapeshifted into Natsuki's classmates and causing mischief with their identities(making him a true doppelganger~!). One the quest is complete, you can battle him once per day with the chance to befriend him!
I like the idea of there being a new rarity of bugs and fish to collect that are slightly mutated by ambient yokai energy. Similar to the abhorations in Dredge, but more PG.
Timers and More has gone under some new renovations! When it reopens you'll find that Bob Keensight has moved in and is working in the shop along side Mr. Goodsight. The explanation for this: they are married now :3
Though the game would be on a floating timescale, each chapter would progress the seasons further into fall, with the climax taking place square on Halloween night.
And that's all I got for ya for now! Im hoping next time I'll have a more concrete idea to show off with some accompanying art.

Nukekubi
Nukekubi evolves from Rokurokubi/Lady Longnek when fused with Wrekneck.
I wanted to do an evolution of a Classic Yo-kai, which is always hard because obviously real folklore yōkai don’t evolve. Out of the seven Classic Yo-kai with evo lines, only one, Ningyo, (Mermaidyn) evolves into anything with real mythological basis, which is Yao Bikuni.
Out of the remaining, we have
Normal Yo-kai Watch style puns (Lappinitup, High Gnomey)
The same yōkai but in a different size (Smogling, Smashibull)
what the fuck (Scarasol, Furdinand)
And I don’t know if they fit under my Classic Yo-kai Japanese name rule because they’re not real Yo-kai!
So like how Kinakobō was my attempt at making a Classic Yo-kai recolor that had some real basis since the Classic recolor situation is almost as bad as the Classic evo situation (like half the Classic Crank Rares are not real yōkai), this is my attempt at making a Classic evo that has some real basis. I’ll probably make more since this is more interesting than recolors.
As for what a nukekubi is, I basically explain it in the bio. They’re violent sleepwalking rokurokubi whose heads come off rather than stretch. Here’s the Yokai.com article about them, and yes, the lamp oil thing about rokurokubi is true, that’s what those ones get up to at night.

Egg crackin~! (Yokai watch Nightfall)
Its not exactly new information, but I've said before that Dazzabel would be heavily involved in the first chapter of my hypothetical yokai watch game.
She'd be the second auto befriend after doing a mandatory quest.
Basically, she's inspiriting Eddie into acting like a typical gyaru type, along with putting him the new highschool's girl uniform. "Nate" feels the need to intervene on behalf of 'his' friend, but the whole situation makes him feel weird.
After a quick battle, Dazzabel finally takes notice of the seemingly average kid, and notes that 'his' features are absolutely adorable, and she could so much with them~! So, she promptly changes targets resulting in the little scene ive depicted!
"Nate" has a number of conflicting feelings over this turn of events, but after alls said and done, Dazzabel offers her medal. Which he's just a tad embarrassed also depicts him in another dress
Whisper takes this opportunity to teach the player about tribe synergy, and Dazzabel joins the party to be used later in the chapter's main quest, the overall plot being used in absolutely destroying Nat's egg~!
Readers of MBS will no doubt notice differences to that version of events, mostly cause im trying to think about this if I were making a real game. Like Dazzabel makes more sense to give out in chapter one than her evolved form, Ratelle.

Wrekneck and Wroyal Wrekneck
Wrekneck evolves into Wroyal Wrekneck upon fusion with Ballin.
This is actually based on a thing I would do when I was real little (like 3 or so) where I didn’t realize that toys weren’t always breakproof and kept breaking their heads off. This started with Barbies but then I got my own toys and then I ended up with some headless Skylanders too. That’s probably not very good for the tsukumogami spirit inside the toy, so here’s what kind of Yo-kai that might lead to. I tried to make her distinct from Grubbles, the extant Merican living doll Yo-kai, and I think it worked.
Wroyal Wreckneck does a fun bit of connecting royalty, dolls, and beheading, though! Dolls are dress up like princesses, dolls can have their heads broken off, and royals called for people to be beheaded!
