Here is my submission for @creatingblackcharacters' Melanin Beam Challenge!

I wanted to make Katie Black because I'm very very attached to her as a character. I think a big part of why I love her so much is because I always used to play as her when I was a kid to the point I've just kind of made up a world in my head where Katie is the real watch-wielder.

So when I heard that the Melanin Beam Challenge would be coming back, she was the character that immediately came to me as someone I could redesign to be Black!

I looked at her wiki page a lot for this, and thought it would be nice to draw her hanging out her canonical friends because in the games she ends up with Nate's friend group (most likely so they wouldn't have to recode like Everything to fit in Sarah and Chelsea). I also found out some cool things about her that I didn't even know, like she's apparently easier to inspirit because she has a sensitivity to spirits.

For a bit I wasn't fully sure on her hairstyle but I think what I have here is a really good translation of her original hairstyle and makes her look really cute.
