Joey doesn’t hate Kaiba because he’s rich, he hates him because he’s an asshole lmao. adding wealth onto that trait grates on Joey because it gives Kaiba another reason to act superior and also the means to pull off his Classic Kaiba Nonsense.

Joey is also a pretty forgiving person as soon as the other person shows remorse for the bad things they’ve done. I feel like as soon as Joey learned about Jack’s past, and how he found his way back to his friends and such, (basically that he wasn’t just a rich asshole lol) they’d probably get along fine!
