"Qin!," Alma glomped onto me, his tears seeping into my shirt "Yu is being mean again!" Sighing, I patted him, aware that a mini-Kanda glaring holes into my back. When I died, I never expected to wind up in this crazy world, much less as a Second Exorcist. Life certainly has a way of playing cruel pranks on me. Oh well, at least there's no homework. Slightly AU. OC-insert.
I put on my most serious look and grabbed his shoulders firmly, “To bring the animals back to the barn, I need you to do one thing, Alma.”
“What?” He eyes widened with anticipation.
I took a deep breath, “You must yodel.”
“Yodel?”
“Yeah, yodel,” I stared steadily into his eyes, “When you yodel, the animals will be drawn to your voice and follow you wherever you go.”
He stared back at me with so earnestly that it took everything for me not to break out into a grin. I whispered into his ears and he nodded, listening to every word that I said. Oh, this was going to be fun.
