“The yoga pose that you avoid the most, you need the most”- Unknown.
Just look at me. Doing it all wrong and shit.
This pose is called urdhva dhanurasana in Sanskrit, or a upward bow. I can't stand it. Every single minute of it is hell, and I have to be present with the pose and on top of it with the god damn resistance in my body as well in the pose. It is a practice of being present with resistance within the body. And what do we know about body, mind and soul? If you can be more present with one of these aspects it will automatically transfer into an other one, because they are not separated, they are all one. As body, as mind, as spirit. The thing with this specific pose is that it pushes all my buttons when it comes to being open and vulnerable towards the world. All upward bows in yoga make your chest and your heart chakra expose to the world. Very difficult to feel how i every week are making myself more and more vulnerable (scary!) and thus become more in alignment with the pose itself. It is a kind of bodily form of shadow work. :) -Trillemille
