Welcome Home
The first thing that she saw was nothingness. Her vision was completely white, and for a moment she could have sworn she’d gone blind.
No, it didn’t feel right. She wasn’t blind, not yet. As she weakly raised her head from the floor she could make out fuzzy shapes that developed sharper edges as she blinked away the haze that buzzed in her mind. The white noise that filled her ears dissipated as she shakily pushed herself up into a sitting position. There was a numbness in her limbs that slowly began to fade, and with it came a chilling sensation. She relished that feeling of nothingness while it slipped away.
With increasing consciousness came panic. Wherever this place was, it wasn’t home. Instead of familiar brick walls and the distant coo of chocobos, there were tall glass walls which boxed her into a cube. This wasn't right.
Nano forced herself to stand and stumbled forward, nearly falling over but managing to catch herself on the glass wall. She leaned against it and threw a weak punch at the invincible material in a desperate effort, and continued at it several more times until she could feel her hand ache. The little witch seethed a hiss and dragged her clawed hand down the glass, “Where the bloody hell am I?!”
After casting a wild look around her surroundings, she spotted somebody; a blond fellow who sat in the cage next to her. Nano hurried over to the side that connected their cells and practically threw herself against the transparent wall, slamming a fist against its surface, “Hey, you! Where am I?! What the hell am I doing here?!”
The bright lights and clean white walls nearly blinded him as he opened his eyes, and he ended up squinting for a few moments as his eyes adjusted to the brightness of the sterile rooms. After adjusting, the musician looked around the room, spotting a doorway nearby and deciding to go through it, hoping to find out more about where on Viaxe he had ended up in.
Wondering down the halls, the various glass cages caught the young man's attention and found himself wondering how they had ended up in there, and why they were there. Walking through another doorway, a lone cage caught his attention, the glass frosted so that whatever was in there couldn't see him, and he couldn't it. Thinking for a moment, Matthew lightly tapped on the glass, and waited for something to happen.
Martyn opened one eye, looking around the room he was in. The entire area was destroyed, plants appeared to have grown rapidly in a matter of moments. All of Yoglabs had been destroyed, rooms torn by plants. He was too exhausted, head pounding. His arms where bleeding slightly, was was his forehead. The light coming from above didn't help at all. He remained still, even when he heard footsteps.
“God this place is a mess!” Sky shouted, patting his clothing in hopes to remove some of the dust.
His face was scratched, gloves torn. He had a heavy backpack on, as well. Sky looked around, observing the place. What happened? It didn’t look like this last time! And it sounded extremely quiet. “Ugh!” Sky’s voice boomed down the halls. If one were to listen closely, his voice almost echoed. He was disgusted by the general appearance of the place. Plus, he was annoyed. It was a pain to get in there. Especially with that huge backpack weighing him down.
It wasn’t long until Sky came across a familiar hallway after walking around for what seemed like centuries.
Martyn looked up at the sound of footsteps and frowned. He noted someone outside his cell and walked towards the wall. Peering through the glass, he noticed a tall man and blinked. "You don't look like a scientist."
Sky stopped dead in his tracks, fingers curling around the hilt of his gold sword. He turned his head, swiftly pulling out the sword. “Oh." He lowered his blade.
"I can be anything you want me to be for fifty bucks, baby." Sky’s lips curled into a bit of a smirk. His smile then subsided. "Whoa man, you okay? You look kinda… dirty, little guy. Not good."
