We both have a very big advantage towards others. Our mind works the same way, and when I say “the same way”, I really mean it. Our string of thoughts about particular topics is alike. We don’t even need to turn thoughts into speech most of the time in order for us to know what’s going on in each other’s mind. And if thoughts are spoken aloud, we are often catching ourselves finishing them for each other in moments we lose the ability to speak. Moreover, we are coming from a similar background. A background that surely helped forming and shaping our current mind. Yes, I am confident in saying that we see things similar due to the experiences we made in life. And I am talking not just about bad experiences but also about good ones.
On top of all of this, we have a similar taste in a lot of things. Similar expectations, similar wishes and desires. Similar hopes. And we have a sophisticated knowledge about topics of interest we are drowning ourselves in for hours so that we are even losing track of time very frequently.
Simply speaking: we have a very solid ground to build on. Our opinions do not always match, and we are eager pushing our opinion through, agressively and loud if necessary, but this is actually the good part to it. Our discussions might look like a verbal battle field, but to be honest, it is far from that. It’s broadening the mind, which is the real beauty to deep and/or heated conversations. Actually, what we hate the most is to not being able to see the full picture and not considering all aspects to a topic or issue. Half-assed stuff is basically what is frustrating to the very core. And its bothering us considerably much. As much as being stripped off of all of this, it assures our certain death.
Okay, okay. I am holding on for a second because you are absolutely right. The task is to actually let my mind run free about what I am thinking of /you/, and what am I doing actually? Talking about /we/ in this entire monoloque. But doesnt it give away what I am actually thinking of you for real? I am thinking of you as a part of me, Genki. A part that cannot be ripped out easily again.
Oh wait! Let’s move to the balcony, first. You owe me beer, you know. And if you really want me to go on, beer is exactly what I need to keep my tongue loose.
