★ Graphic novels on Bollywood are a hit!

With well-sculpted muscles struggling to break free from his tight t-shirt, Salman ‘Tiger’ Khan glares at you as he fights international terrorists. This, while he is romancing Katrina and saving her from the goons. Only this time, instead of being on the silver screen he colouring the pages of a graphic novel.
At the 18th Delhi Book Fair at Pragati Maidan, visitors are getting a fair share of Bollywood with graphic novels based on movies that are becoming quite a hit. Available at a stall set up by S. Chand and Company, these graphic novels are attracting young readers on the second day of the fair.
Two movies that have made it to the list are Ek Tha Tiger and Dhoom. The two book adaptations have already sold 3,000 copies. Madan Singh Bisht, Senior Branch Manager of S. Chand and Company Ltd said that these ‘yomics’ have been introduced for the first time at a book fair. “They have been published by our sister publication and will cater to the young reader,” he said.
Nodding in agreement is Suresh Kumar, a student of Delhi University who was reading the yomics. “Salman Khan is a star and this graphic novel keeps up his image. What is there not to like?” he questioned.
