Trust came hard for Taeyong throughout his life. Perhaps he was born like this; ever since he has memory he remembers that he did not trust any man that talked to his mother. His mother was his, and no one else’s. He did not trust his father at any moment, and he did not trust anyone at school, before and after his disappearance.

But trust could come in some percentages, he thinks. Little were the people he really opened up to, some more, some less. But that percentage had the possibility to increment, like everything, the trust had to be gained.

Getting good grades and being the “supposed charity case” made it hard for him to open to anyone. Being one of the top ones, and without any apparent help of any clique, while it did not put him directly in Gossip Girl’s spotlight it did put him in some others. Thankfully, it was a lighter, more positive spotlight. After his disappearance, Gossip Girl did pay attention to him, but he paid no mind and his lie seemed to be believable, even to her.

Taeyong always did respect a well, intelligent talk. Spending so much time in the library gave him good company, afterwards. He did not know anyone else who could speak to him over introspective matters like Yoongi did. He liked speaking to him. And without noticing it, he slowly began to lower his walls around him.

They would help each other, in different ways, lighting up each other’s days. Even if Yoongi was part of a very controversial clique, the way he talked to Taeyong and distracted him from the mess going around at home could make him forget his fear of 

That changed after his disappearance, though. Taeyong was ashamed of himself. And after arriving, those walls were back up again. But knowing that Yoongi would notice the defensiveness, he preferred to lie. It was easy, and it would not hurt anybody. He would rather prefer hurting himself, having people believe pity him over discovering everything else about him.

Right? It’s fine if only he gets hurt, right?

It was once a week Taeyong saw Yoongi-hyung, they would always go out to get lunch. He waited for him outside AOMG, scrolling through his phone while he waited for him to come out. Starving, he sent him a message:

He hasn't even been waiting for that long, but Taeyong is a big baby regarding food. And the offer of pork belly had seemed too tempting.
