.“GIRLS!” Taeyeon yelled, her voice clearly laced with annoyance. A herd of elephants could be heard, stomping down the stairs as her two daughters appeared in front of her almost instantaneously. Both of them knew that they were in a pile of deep shit, Momma-Bear-Taeyeon only raised her voice when she was angry.
Yoona and Krystal looked down at their feet wishing that the floor would swallow them up. Yoona being the older of the two held Krystal's hand tightly.
“Yes Mum?” Yoona asked hesitantly.
“Look at the mess you two made.” Taeyeon grumbled angrily.
Times were getting harder for Taeyeon, with her new full time job, her wife constantly working and worrying over the children, she slowly became more short-fused. Frustration and just an overall feeling of “bleh” was over-taking her world as her relationship with her family hit cruise control.
She was getting tired of working ten hours a day.
She was getting tired of how annoying her children could be.
She was getting tired of how her wife would no longer pay any attention to her.
“We just wanted to help out Momma.” Krystal spoke up, stepping out from behind Yoona.
“Yeah, well, next time clean up after you help. You don't just cook for fun.” Taeyeon shot back, her voice low and angry.
Guilt hit her almost instantly after she said those words, but Taeyeon was ever prideful, and just turned her back on her children.
Krystal was the first to start sniffling, and Yoona hugged her tightly. They didn't like it when Mumma-bear was like this, Yoona noticed how irritable she was getting lately, and began avoiding her mum when she came home. Especially after she was reprimanded harshly for spilling her bubble tea on her floor. The older of the two siblings remembered how that night she cried herself to sleep and when Mumma-Jessi came in and how she couldn't bear to tell on Mumma-bear to Mumma-Jessi, so she just lied and said that she had just finished reading a sad book.
Yoona and Krystal loved both their mum's dearly, but lately, their Mumma-bear had even started being mean to Krystal.
Taeyeon stormed off and slammed the door loudly, she knew that she was in the wrong, she knew she shouldn't have yelled at them like that, but being the bread-winner of the family was hard too. Unlike Jessica, who embraced the joys and pain of child-rearing, she wasn't ready for this enormous responsibility.
She abruptly awoke from her nap when she heard the door close, and she knew that her wife was home. She grumbled and just turned over and snuggled into her bed.
“Wow, something smells good!” she heard Jessica exclaim from downstairs.
“Did you do all this?” She motioned at the table full of food and asked her two little angels.
The younger of the two nodded, but quickly mimmiced her elder sister to say saying that her other mother had made all this.
“Where's Mumma-bear?” Jessica asked Krystal, picking her up and showering her with kisses. Krystal just giggled and kissed her back. Yoona said nothing and hugged Jessica's legs. Jessica realised something as she kissed Krystal though.
“Kryssie, have you been crying?” She asked slowly, gazing worriedly into her daughter's eyes.
“Mumma-”Krystal started.
“Nothing happened Mummy.” Yoona cut her younger sister off.
Jessica slowly put Krystal down, and kneeled down to Yoona's eye level. She brushed away her fringe and placed a small kiss on her forehead.
“You know you can tell me anything right baby?” Jessica said softly but not pleadingly.
Yoona clenched her teeth as she felt the tears roll down her cheeks, she shook her head and felt she felt her mum wrap her arms tightly around her. She felt the warmth disappear as her mother motioned for them to go to the dinner table.
“What about Mumma-bear?” Krystal asked.
“Don't worry about that silly old thing darling. Just eat.” Jessica smiled at her daughter's whole-hearted innocence.

“You heard everything didn't you Tae?” Jessica said flatly, she didn't sound angry at all, just disappointed.
“You were there when Yoona stuck up for you.” She said again, softly to the ball of blankets on their bed.
The ball nodded slightly.
Jessica just sighed heavily. Two children were a handful as is, she didn't need her wife being a big baby too.
The ball broke out into a soft sob, and Jessica clambered onto the bed and removed the blanket to be met with a red-puffy eyed Taeyeon who looked like she had been crying for days on end.
“I feel like I'm not good enough for any of you. You are such a natural at this Jessi, how?” Taeyeon said exasperated.
Her wife sighed again, wiped her tears and stroked her forehead.
“I'm so sorry Jessi.” Taeyeon whispered, her voice not daring to go any louder in case she broke out into tears again.
“It's not me you have to apologise to.”

The Kim-Jung family were about to turn in, and Yoona was getting ready for another sleepless night. She kissed her baby sister good night and was about to turn off the light when she saw her mumma-bear standing bashfully at the door.
“Mumma-bear?” Yoona asked hesitantly.
“Yoong-ah.” Taeyeon sat down cross-legged on the floor, drawing circles into the carpet.
She looked at her daughter, and saw how mature the girl had become, she couldn't fathom how a ten year old was more emotionally giving and aware than her.
“Yoona..” Taeyeon trailed off, tears in her eyes as she saw that her recent years of bad parenting had taken a heavy toll on her eldest.
“Yoona, I'm so sorry, I've been such a bad mum for you, to both of you.” Taeyeon started gushing at her ten year old.
“Come here sunshine. I promise i'll do a better job.” She hugged Yoona tightly and pressed a long kiss on Yoona's forehead. She picked up both her daughters and brought them back into the master bedroom.
For the first time in a while, everyone in the house had the best sleep in their life.

“Mumma-bear!” Krystal and Yoona yelled as the ran to the door, eager that their mum had come home early once again.
“Yes my loves?” Taeyeon asked, only to be tackled by her daughters.
“We love you Mumma-bear!” Krystal said, Taeyeon was momentarily stunned, and Jessica just smiled at the sight from the kitchen.
“Coming through!” Jessica yelled as she landed on top of the pile showering kisses on all three of her babies.
