Well... Anaka didn't quite turn out as I imagined. The yellow paint ended up looking green, and with the red wig I looked like Fiona from Shrek 😅 Someone asked if I was Poison Ivy lol.

The fangs were a bit too big as well, they would work great as vampire fangs but too much for Anaka, I couldn't close my mouth.

But... for a first time? I think it went okay 😊 I'll know what to improve for next time at least. Better paint, better wig and smaller fangs basically, lol. Also I need to work on the chains, although I do quite like how these turned out. Plus I accidentally broke one 3 times and spent all morning and half the car journey fixing it, so I want to make use of them now lol. But they aren't as accurate as I would like, so I probably wouldn't use them for Anaka again.

Anyway. It was a great con, and it was fun being Anaka 😊 Even if I didn't do her justice at all 😬 I'll try again when I have more time to prep!

Attending York Unleashed, if only for about 1 hour was very costly in terms of spoons. Equally, I have come away with the best notebook:

York Unleashed - 11th August

I will be at York Unleashed Comic Con on 11th August, selling and signing copies of my books. The event is at York Racecourse, with general opening at 11am and earlybird opening from 10am.

I will be travelling up the day before, so do York writery people want to meet up on the evening of Saturday 10th?

I met Colin Baker and Paul McGann and I am dead.

I met Colin first and told him how much I love Six, especially in Big Finish. I mentioned the Pirates audio and he sang a small bit of Gallifreyan Buccaneer. He loved the art I'd made for him to sign. I mentioned TDORS2 and how amazing Six and River are and his eyes light up and he says 'oh yes, I got to kiss her!' And then he started a conversation about 13 with me and we both gushed over how great a female Doctor is. He's precious, I love him. He's a super sweet gentleman.

Then I was waiting in line for Paul, and he nipped off to the loo, walked past me and shouted 'out of my way, you're all fanatics' then looked at me and shot me a grin.

When I got to his signing table, he fanboyed over my art (at first he asked where I got it and he was gobsmacked that I drew it) and I told him I had another if he wanted it and his eyes lit up and he was like YES and asked me to sign the back of it. And then I told him told him how much I love Big Finish, specifically the Dark Eyes/Doom Coalition/Ravenous series.

And then I cheekily asked him if he wouldn't mind doing me a favour, that the next time he sees Nicola Walker if he could tell her Liv was my favourite Doctor Who companion and he got super excited (honestly, the man is like a human puppy) and was like 'yes I'm seeing her next week I'll tell her' (and tbh with how excited he got, I actually think he might tell her). And we both agreed Liv needs to stay forever. And then I told him Eight was my favourite Doctor too. And he grabbed both my hands and said 'we like you'.

And then we took a selfie and he hugged me and I'm dead so dead. HE'S SO NICE OMG
