Back when I was a kid, and even into my 20's, I thought this flower was a "cornflower." It reminded me of the blue flower on the Corningware dishes and casserole. 😄 Coincidentally, that's where I'd usually see it -- at the edges of fields of corn.

I did eventually learn it is called Chicory.

Usually, they grow pretty tall, but when they're in the lawn, and get mowed down habitually, they adapt and bloom the best they can.
