Yosalyn Montri-Greene was born and raised in the city of Olympia. Living a sheltered life in the upper-middle class Virgo District, Yosalyn lived an uneventful life, focusing her interest mostly on fashion, but also later discovering her interest in learning about different cultures, especially those of elves and dwarves. For a little while, she dressed in clothing and styled her hair similar to that of the Bleadh; however she soon stopped after being ridiculed by others.
Described as "energetic but naive," Yosalyn often speaks and acts before thinking, meaning she can be indiscreet and sometimes even rude. She also has a bad habit of taking over conversations and not listening to the other person. She often starts projects and never finishes them, losing interest and then moving onto something else. She cares about others' opinions of her, using them to shape herself into the "ideal person", while still attempting to retain her individuality.
Lately, she has been interested in Outsider fashion, which has become a trend among the middle and upper classes of Olympia. She owns many items of clothing from the fashion line "The Deathlands". Because of this new fashion, she has become interested in the Outside and is interested in exploring the deathlands. She pursues this interest, trying to find people who would be willing to escort her in her travels, imagining herself as an explorer wearing the latest "gear" from her favorite fashion line and casting herself as some “badass” in an action movie. However, as with many of her interests, she will soon lose interest.
She is not the best friend, but because she acts without thinking, she can be relied upon if there is trouble. However, sometimes she will panic instead. She can be selfish at times, completely oblivious to the needs and wants of others. She can be swept up in conversation and often does not pay attention to what she is doing or what is happening around her. She often thinks of external events in terms of her own feelings, ignoring the fact that others who live the same experiences are also affected and may have feelings that differ from hers.
She lives for a fast lifestyle, avoiding her family to do drugs and party with her friends, but underneath her exterior image as a lover of forgotten nights and quick trends is a sadness, which she can keep buried as long as she avoids any introspection.
