Ruby couldn’t hide her recklessness with a bit of humor when Weiss was this upset with her. She slumped down, feeling the fatigue starting to take over now that the moment of danger had passed. Her arms wrapped around her, staring at a space on the ground as Weiss continued to explain things that were probably right.
“I know, Weiss. I just... It’s like you said, everyone needs me and my eyes are special but...” her expression and voice turning crestfallen. “Every time I turn around, there’s a new development thrown in the way and.. I’m trying to keep up with it... what happened at Beacon, then Haven... now the Relics and the team finally being back together...”
There was a pain slowly creeping through her body and her voice. She tried to hide it, but it was almost futile at this point. Her energy was being spent on letting her aura recover, and sitting up. Ruby also knew that attempting to be any margin of deceptive with Weiss at this point would just make her more frustrated.
“I might not have to be the hero all the time, but with the way everything is going, it sure feels like I have to.”
