People usually compare the "I haven't seen you smile in three days" to Arthur not noticing his queen being enchanted for weeks and yes. Yes. But also Arthur didn't even remember their anniversary. The surprises, the dates - all Merlin's ideas. Not only that, but Arthur doesn't even get his ass up to execute any of these ideas. Now that i am writing it i get pissed off she didn't deserve this shi. While he goes out of his way for Merlin every single time. And he invests in their relationship emotionally as well.

If I were to choose how to be treated in a relationship I would want to be in Merlin's position and that should say something.
