~ ~ ❀ ---- ❀ ---- ❀ Light and darkness.
Polar opposites and both just as addictive as each other. Emma felt the darkness coursing through her veins. She had almost forgotten what it felt like to possess pure, light magic. The darkness had fought against the light within her and it had been agonising. Ever since she had surrendered and accepted the power of the Dark One, the feeling had swallowed up the light and she lost all sense of herself. She no longer felt any pain or resistance from the darkness. It felt like being immersed in inky water, yet she now invited the feeling, no longer fighting; accepting.
The Dark One stood, staring at a metal number fixed upon painted wood; the front door of the Mayoral Mansion. Too impatient to go down the conventional route of knocking and waiting, she simply waved her hand. Surrounded by a cloud of ash-grey smoke for merely a second, it cleared and Emma was no longer on the porch.
“Regina!” She called, sauntering down the large, open hallway. “I know you’re home and I want my dagger back.” Emma silently cursed her weaker self for entrusting the precious weapon in the care of Regina. It was the one way for her to be controlled and there was not a chance in hell she would allow for the brunette to retain ownership of it.
