I remember when the concept of dim sum was literally foreign to me. After a short trip to Hong Kong and seeing the little ladies and their carts of goodies putting around a salon all day, NYC dim sum (sans carts)doesn’t have the same charm. It can be somewhat stressful with plates being chucked at your table at overwhelming speeds. Jing Fong UWS is clearly catered to the local clientele with large portions at fair prices, mediocre mixology and banal interior highlighted by an open kitchen counter that people can fight over when they run out of tables.
