Paradise

I walked outside to get a breath of fresh air, to take my mind off some things because I’m never alone. I found you sitting outside of my mailbox away from everyone else in that green cap of yours. I sat down next to you in silence, as I had no idea of who you were, and you stared intently at your phone, I’m never noticed anyway, why should it change now?

You looked at me and asked me a question, I replied vaguely and 5 minutes later, people started to leave. I decided that I wanted to go inside, you followed and we went to sit down in a room where the remainder of people sat with us. It was so loud in that tiny room and I needed more space so I offered you a choice. To stay there amongst the people or to come with me.

We both relocated to the top floor of my 3-story house, and I sat at the top of my bed in the dusty spare room, it was old but quiet but comfortable. You took your shoes off and that cap of yours and laid at the foot of the bed. I am not sure how it happened but you got closer and closer because I was so intrigued with what you were watching on your phone and so closer and closer, you approached.

I rested my arms on a white fluffy pillow I hadn’t used in a while and considering you came closer I offered you a place to rest your weary head and moved my arms, you didn’t hesitate and we watched funny pet videos as you laid upon my lap, my concept of paradise shifted towards your existence.

You smiled at me and your hand gradually earn’t its place in mine and It felt like home. As time went by and the videos enlightened our eyes, you noticed something through the dimly lit window behind the shades, it was so hard to see because it was almost midnight but you slowly moved your hands towards the window and I realised something odd.

Your hand faded towards the coiled snake outside the window and my mentality shook, I told you not to touch it as you might get hurt, but you still proceeded.

Its fangs bared themselves at you, its skin glimmered with desperocity, and instinct, for it knew that it had already lured you into its clutches and this paradise was at its end.
