I love my #writingcommunity I love connecting with my fellow writers in person and virtually. My writing community is filled with amazing writers who support each other. They cheer me on when I have lost my cheer for a brief moment. They provide advice and guidance. They listen and understand. I am so grateful for these wonderful communities. 💫 One writing group is local. VIRA (Vancouver Island Romance Authors). I connected with this group instantly and can't say enough how amazing everyone is in the group. 💫 My second writing community is virtual. The 10 minute novelists, is a group I stumbled upon on Facebook and I am go blessed to be part of a group that continues to support one another from afar but feels like they are sitting on the sofa with me. I am truly grateful for being a part of these communities. My laptop goes pretty much everywhere with me. I do write in note books, but I do love my laptop as much as one can love an inanimate object. 💫 This picture is from a trip to #cannonbeachoregon where I fell in love with the Pacific North West. I sat outside on the deck of the resort we were staying and where I found a great rocking chair to sit and get some #writing done. Happy #youmaybeawriterif you know where to find your inspiration. 💫 The #ocean flows through my heart, body and soul. Really any body of water sparks my joy and #creativity. 💫 This past week I've been exploring and hiking around #frederiction NB. Many trails had bubbling brooks leading into big beautiful lakes. What a lovely time. 💫 I love the sound of waves crashing on the beach or the tide coming in. The soft sound of the water flowing over rocks and twigs along the brook trigger wonder memories of my Nanny Pierce, one of the strongest women I know. A woman who encouraged me to tell stories because my imagination is so big. When she passed away I vowed I would share our story. Even at a young age our visits filled my creative well, and those memories continue to keep me company. I will continue working on my story about our visits. It is one of my writing goals. We are currently away on vacation and all of my other writing tools are in my #writing room back in Victoria, BC. 💫 I have other favourite writing tools all over the place. There are sticky notes on my walls to remind of certain times and places to trigger my memory. A new writing grammar apt that seems to be a permanent tab opened on my laptop. It's very useful for over used words. I'm attached to the word "just" for some reason. This app helps remind me that I can cut the word out and still share exactly what I would like to say and mean without filler words. 💫 I actually have pine cones around my room. I love the feel of them when they are dried out as I pass one from one hand to another when I am pacing my room as I work through a chapter I need a little help with. Almost like a slinky, LOL. 💫 I have vision boards on my walls to remind me of my goals and intentions. I love all the things that help me be a better writer and creative being.
