Day 4 of #julycampnanowrimo is all about time vs. length. My interpretation of this idea is more about time. ✨ The time it takes to write a novel is very personal. Especially a memoir, well that is how I feel at this moment. Once I knew what I wanted to write and share with the world, it was easier to finish writing the book. Then came the editing and second, third and fourth rounds of editing before I sent off the manuscript to my editor. All the little things involved with writing and self-publishing your work takes time. It's okay to take the time that is needed to release your work to the world. ✨ I struggle with self doubt when I hear of other writers writing and self-publishing their books every six months, some even put out 4 - 5 books a year. I know I can not compare myself to others. This is my journey and I am the only one who can write my books. ✨ With that being said, I am aware of the distractions of our big move across the country has taken on my creative life, and every day I am getting back to the page longer and longer. Sorry for the delay on yesterday's #tenthingschallenge post all about movies or TV shows I admire. Where do I even start? The posters I chose are only the surface of my favourite movies and documentaries I enjoy to watch over and over. Happy Monday! Today's #tenthingschallenge is about things I'm afraid of. I don't know if I have ten things but here are the first thoughts about fear. 💫 Afraid to ask for help. I know when I do ask for help I feel better. I am not perfect and I don't know everything and that is okay. We are all here to help one another. I need to remind myself if that from time to time. 💫 Afraid I haven't been a great friend for a few years in the past when I was hiding from my life choices. Hiding from who I really am. My friends are so important to me. I have been slowly reconnecting with those who were with me every step of the way, even when I didn't see it at the time. Thank you. Love makes you blind sometimes. 💫 I was afraid to share my memoir, because I was really putting it out there. My real thoughts and actions were not just on the page, they were on a page with people reading my journey. I am nervous about my next memoir, but I tell myself, if I did it once, I can do it again.
