Hello Flababies
It wasn't the fact that AZ woke up to still being young and still fitting in the bed that surprised him (alright it did but), it was the sound of tiny chirping from the table.
It took him a moment to really register that it certainly was't Floette's chirping, and there were more then one. He rubbed his eyes slowly, before sitting up rapidly. He pushed the sheets off of himself, stumbling out of bed before he carefully, carefully made his way over to the table. Had they...?
Floette looked up to him when they could see each other. And so did five tiny, tiny little faces. She smiled, cooing as she wrapped her arms around her five little hatchlings. The continued chirping, before falling quiet when they saw AZ. He paused, looking to Floette to make sure it was okay for him to come closer.
Floette chittered and nuzzled her babies, before looking to AZ happily. It was okay it seemed. He walked over to the edge of the desk, looking down into the nest. The Flabebe cowered back, eyes wide, but their mother's cooing relaxed them. Soon enough, one of them started to chirp again, and then another, and soon all five of them were back to chittering.
AZ smiled. To his surprise... they were the same color as their mother. That unusual blue and pink he hadn't seen before or since. Four of them seemed fairly regular size, while the runt was quite a bit smaller. Which made her incredibly tiny. AZ was glad he was at least the size of a normal person right now, or they'd be incredibly small in comparison. None of them had flowers yet...
AZ paused, before remembering he hadn't yet bought the flowers he intended to give them. Or at least offer them. Floette looked up at him, chirping again.
"I know, I know. I... didn't think they'd hatch yet," he admitted to her, going to get the jar of pink berry goo he had been given earlier along with some of the other berries. He opened the jar up and left it by the nest with the berries. "I'll be back in a few minutes," he assured his companion, going to grab his money. Torkoal lay under the table, seeming rather content. His head was tilted to look up at the table, but the old thing didn't do anything beyond that. He grunted at AZ though, and AZ rolled his eyes. "Don't get on my case too," he replied, before rushing out and down into Lumiose.
Down through the morning crowd AZ rushed, pushing past people as he tried to get to the flower shop. He had only thrown his clothing on quickly, and his already messy hair was hysterically messy. At last though, he made it to his destination. Eight flowers. That should be enough, just in case they refused to only go to the five he would like them to go to. AZ shook his head to himself a bit as the florist got his flowers. He was never going to look into flower meanings that much again. Which reminded him, he needed to return those books.
With the flowers in hand, he rushed back to the hotel at the same speed he had left. Floette was carefully feeding her babies the berry pulp when he came back, and she gave a cheerful chirp when he closed the door. AZ pushed his sloppy brown hair out of his face, walking over and carefully setting the flowers down by the nest.
Red Lily, Sunflower, Gerbera, Purple Iris, Peony, Gladiolus, Forget-Me-Not, Marigold.
AZ pulled the chair over (Since he can at least sit on it now). He plopped himself down in front of the nest at Floette's consent, watching the babies. And he smiled.
